I like this series so I bought this book but it really missed the mark..The story goes on & on & never get anyplace..It feels like the author had to turn in so many words so its very repetitive..After pages of the dog sniffing dorm rooms at the college & finding very little and half the book was finished I didn't bother with the rest..

This book started out better than the last one as far as the plot is concerned but it still has far to many words..The main character, Kitty, is very chatty & doesn't say much. The author has a writing style that is different in that she drops the noun I much of the time & it makes the sentences awkward . If the just over 500 pages were condensed into just over 300 it would have been much better. After awhile it becomes boring.

I have read all the books in this series and this one was not up to par. It was at least 100 pages to many. The basic outline was good but it was way to wordy and rambling. The plot seemed to be dragged out to make it longer and the music references were over the top.

I think you need to have read the other books in this series before this one because it makes a lot of references to the past. It is very convoluted and after 2 tries I gave up.

It took me two try's to finish this book. It got better about half way through and in the end I liked it but if this had been the first Asaro novel I have read it also would have been the last.

I did not finish this book. It is written in first person present tense and I do not like that style of writing.

This book is very dark. It is well written but it is different. It managed to hold my interest however.

I wasn't sure about this book when I started to read it and now I can't wait for the next one to come out. It might have started a little slow but it ended well and thats better than the other way around.

The first book in this series showed promise with an unusual story line. The second book did NOT live up to my exceptions. This is a new wrier and it shows, a lot,. What I am sure was meant to be fast paced is merely disjointed. I only read 50 pages or so before I quit reading. Life is to short to read bad books.

Dr Amy St Clair awakes from her dream wondering why she is having the same nightmare over and over. This is a tale of psycological suspense and medical terror.

You can tell the author has a degree in English because this book is so well written. It does not read like it was written for 12yr olds and has to follow a plot script like a lot of the new authors do. The descriptive words actually describe something besides bedroom antics. I can't wait for the next one.

I just skimmed over most of the story's in this book and didn't like them. The authors on the cover have written stories but its mostly the "and many more" which is in small print on the cover and they are not worth the time to read them.

The premise of this book is great, sorry to say the writing is awful. At least you can read the first 50 pages and them skip to the last 10 and know the whole story and not miss a thing..better yet..you can just not bother to read it at all.

Blood Red started out a little slow but then it picked up and is another Mercedes Lackey winnerLike most of her books its a stand alone novel but the main character Rosamund could easily have other adventures if it turned into a series.

I tried to read this book twice, after the second time I gave up. It is trite and not very well written The plot is not well developed and it has to depend on sex as a filler. When that happens it is time to give it up.

By the Sword makes more sense if you read the previous book first, [which I did] but you can also read it as a stand alone novel. He leaves you knowing in the end that there is more and you need to read the next book to find out exactly what. I am not sure I am that curious
