Three stories in one book - three brothers from Scotland each of whom made a promise to their Dad on his deathbed and who inherited a family heirloom. A ring, a Bible and a pocket watch have special meaning to each of the brothers and play an important part of the story of the brother who owns it. Each story is about a different brother but the stories and characters overlap and actually need each other to be complete. I do not necessarily like anthologies but this seemed more like one story with 3 chapters - one for each brother. I would highly recommend this book.

This was an excellent book.Three brothers come to America and find the American Dream each in their own way . The lives of the brothers intermingle and form a wonderful story . After reading each separate brother's story, I couldn't wait to read on to find out what happened to the next one . This book was heart-warming and a definite "must read".

WOW I'm impressed, a very realistic life book! The 3 brothers and their stories was done very well, a good clean happy read. I didn't realize this was a Christian Romance and not my usual sort but I was very pleased. Don't pass this by.

WOW! What a wonderful book. I couldn't put it down. The stores all revolve around three brothers from Scotland who immigrated to Texas. Ones a doctor, another's a cobbler, and the last a Texas Ranger. Without giving the stores away, I would highly recommend reading this book.

Hake has done it again! These three brothers from Scotland receive unusual gifts and a special blessing from their father. Love finds each of them through their own unique strengths. The gifts their father left them fit each boy/man perfectly for what he is to become. If this is the first book you've read written by Cathy Marie Hake, take my advice...don't let it be your last. Hake has a gift for breathing life into words, making each story come to life. Each book skillfully weaves faith, bits of knowledge and practicality into the story lines.

Before he died, the Scottish father gave his 3 unmarried sons one family heirloom each. Chris, the oldest [miner by trade] was given his father's watch. Robert, the 2nd son [doctor by trade] was given his mother's wedding ring. And Duncan, the youngest [cobbler by trade] was given the family Bible. Now the 3 brothers have arrived in America to make a living.

All three books kept my interest and I didn't want to put the book down!!
Even though series saved the best for last, it is important to read "To Love Mercy" [Dr. Robert Gregor & Mercy's story], then "To Walk Humbly" [Duncan Gregor and Carmen's story], then "To Do Justice" so you won't miss the details. Truly great books!!

I love all three stories, especially "To Do Justice" which was Chris Gregor and Kathryn's story!!

" Equipped with their father's blessing and meager gifts of inheritance, three brothers from the hills of Scotland enter the land of possibilities and settle on the plains of Texas.* Dr. Robert Gregor opens an office in town. Mere days before Mercy Stein is to be wed, her world falls apart. The doctor can tend her, but only God can heal a battered soul. Will Rob risk everything and place his mother's wedding band on Mercy's hand? * Duncan Gregor's quiet counsel and practical views draws people to the unassuming cobbler. Carmen Rodriguez wallows in loneliness, believing no one wants a crippled wife, so she resolves to be content serving others. The two neighbors ought to get along, but Duncan nettles her. Will the Bible his father bequeathed him bring the neighbors together..or drive them apart? *The pocket watch his father left to him ticks off time for Christopher Gregor. Driven to capture the man who killed his friend, Chris becomes a Texas Ranger. The last thing he needs is to be sidetracked by a helpless woman. Kathryn Regent finds almost everything she ever dreamed of with Christopher--but will her secret tear them apart? Can their father's gifts help these brothers lead three hurting women to healing faith and love?"

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as the three stories blended well together and tied up the lose ends, so they read almost as one novel.
The characters are very likeable especially the strong relationships between the brothers....
