I've always enjoyed this Savich/Sherlock FBI series. The book prior to this one was not that great and I'm disappointed to say this one was only slightly better.

There are 2 plots going on which was great; however, the ending was a letdown. It seemed like the stories were moving along interestingly and then they just ended. I felt like the author was writing away and then all the sudden got tired and stopped.

I'd say the first three-quarters of this book is great...but the last quarter, I'd be stretching to give it 1 star.

I have avidly followed Catherine Coulter's FBI series, and have totally enjoyed it. This book, a relatively new one in the series, did not move as fast as the others. The premise was a little weak but I still enjoyed it.

My first Coulter book and my last. First chapter was interesting but it went downhill from there. I was so bored!!! I like some romance in my reading and there was 0 romance in this book. The characters were shallow and the storyline silly. But that's my opinion. I read a lot of the reviews and some people love this writer, so different strokes for different folks, I guess. I like Nora Roberts, Carla Neggars, Susan Wiggs, etc. Coulter is totally NOT that type of writer.

Was this a thriller or romance, missed the mark on both counts. The characters weren't very likeable, at times I was hoping some would get knocked off. Alot of meaning less banter that had no bearing whatsoever on the story. Could have skipped alot of chapters and still 'got' the story. Guess I don't really like this author, I've given her several tries, can't win them all I guess.

She woke up to find her hands tied to her chest and her legs locked in wieights just before theyows her into the lake. An expert swimmer, Rachel Abbott, illegitimate daughter of a powerful senator, gets free and goes on the run. She believes her father's two siblings want her dead to prevent her from revealing something that could have destroyed her dad's career; though before he died he was planning to go public. In Kentucky Appalachia on her way to a safe house to rest and think, she sees a plane make an emergency crash landing; the pilot and the passenger manage to escape just before the plane exploded.

The pilot is FBI Agent Jackson Crowne who was flying his friend psychiatrist Dr Timothy MacLean to Washington, D.C. in order for the agency to protect him from an unknown adversary. Dr. Maclean suffers from frontal lobe dementia, which has led him to break confidentiality about three patients. Even at the hospital there are attempts on the psychiatrist's life just as there are on Rachel's. Happily married Savich and Sherlock are sent to learn what happened to Maclean and then hearing her story, take Racheal under their wing. Soon they too are in danger from killers wanting Timothy and Rachel silenced.

Catherine Coulter is one of the best authors of exciting thrillers writing today. The several subplots running throughout her novels that eventually tie together is a work of art. In the case of TAILSPIN, Savich and Sherlock heat up the pages while a romance between Rachel and Jack blossoms. Readers already care about SS, but will also like JR. and his evolving romance with Rachael. Fans of the series will relish the protagonists and their cronies as they struggle to stay alive against cunning professional killers.

Catherin Coulter has created another FBI Thriller that is a page turner. The guessing game was a little hard to decifer, and the fake suicide fooled me, him pulling off the attempted murder stunts on the doctor character, very good book, enjoyed all the almost wiffed shootouts at the FBI characters. If you like suspense, mystery, Catherine Coulter can bring you entertainment for sure.

Another FBI book from Ms. Coulter. Enter Sherlock and Savich (the married FBI special agents). They agree to help Agent Jack Crowne's new love interest (Rachael) find out who killed her father, after she sees and helps rescue Jack from a plane crash. The story centers around Rachel's deceased father, his disfunctional family and greed. It's a good story, but I was disappointed that the author didn't fully develop the romance between Jack and Rachael. Also, there are many characters in the story. Some of them seem superficial since they aren't developed and too many are thrown at the reader in the beginning of the book. (It's hard to keep them straight!) Despite this, the book was still enjoyable.

I almost didn't finish this book. I couldn't connect with the characters. I really didn't care what happened. The plot was pretty good, but the characters were just kind of flat.

This is a great read with lots of twists and turns throughout. Who is behind the attempted murders on 2 people who have nothing in common? Why are they being targeted? Where are the killers going to strike next? Lots of questions but not many answers until the end. Keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Another good FBI thriller by Catherine Coulter! FBI Agents Savich and Sherlock find a fellow agent's plane and rescue him and his passenger. That's just the beginning of a novel filled with vicious murder attempts, powerful suspects, political secrets and vast amounts of money - all hanging in the balance.

This was a good FBI one, but it had a lot going on and sometimes I had trouble sticking with it. I just found it hard to finally get to the end.

FBI Special Agent Jackson Crowne is flying renowned psychiatrist Dr. Timothy MacLean back to Washington, D.C., to protect him and discover whos trying to kill him. But they dont make it. Agent Crowne barely manages to bring his Cessna down in the narrow Cudlow Valley and haul the unconscious Dr. MacLean from the burning wreckage before it explodes. Their crash is witnessed by Rachael Abbott, a young woman who has just narrowly escaped drowning by assailants who drugged her, tied her to a cement block, and threw her into Black Rock Lake. To add to the complexity of the situation, Dr. MacLean has been diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, a pernicious disease that makes the victim say whatever comes to mind with no regard to consequences. With a patient list of Washingtons elite movers and shakers, MacLean has almost certainly compromised doctor-patient confidentiality, and one of his patients, they presume, is out to shut him up. But which one, and why?

I read some of the reviews that were not too favorable, which surprised me. I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were very well written and believable. The byplay between Jack and Rachael was perfect. I had a hard time putting the book down.
