Very good book, written in the form of IMs. Seemed like it was a transcript or something, it seemed dead on with how they talked and what went on, etc. Great book for any teen, it's not terribly sappy.

Parents, be warned: I strongly suspect you do NOT want your children to turn out like the characters in this book. This book glorifies drug use and casual sex on every other page, which would be fine for an "adult" book, but it is aimed at young teens. The author sh ould be ashamed. I'm ashamed that I let my daughter buy the book without looking at it at all closely; even casual inspection reveals it to be trash that degrades both its characters and those who read it.

It took me awhile to get the hang of reading this, as it's written in chat form. Once it got going and I got used to it, the story wasn't bad at all. The story revolves around the lives of three high school girls who are best friends. I liked the book enough that I plan on reading the other two in the series.

Wow! Let me tell you, this book was phenominal. Fantastic. It is a great book for any girl from ages 12 to around 20. It is a great, funny, touching, and serios book. I hope that more and more people will read this book in the future. Once again, phenominal. Thank you Lauren Myracle!

Written entirely in IMs, ttyl tells the story of 3 best friends in their 10th grade year. Full of angst, drama, and humor. Makes a lively read that will keep you smiling.

Silly, silly girls. All that IM-speak. *laugh*

But. I like books like this. Easy to read in "chunks" when I'm really busy and just want something to grab and read here and there. Do I really care what happens next? No, not really, but it's the same with those Georgia Nicholson books for me. I'll keep reading cuz they are easy and pretty darn cute.

Worth a read if you are like me and need a break from too much heavy stuff :)

This was a decent book with an interesting gimmick and plotline. However, I ordered it for my 13 year old and after a few pages of preview reading, I realized this was not going on her bookcase anytime soon. Way too mature for preteens or early teens, in my opinion.

Funny, great book for teens! Perfect because all the conversations are in IM chats:D

Especially fun to read because of its sheer creativity. I've never read anything told entirely in instant messages, and once you get past the âInternet speakâ (srsly, wat happened 2 the days wen spelling mattered?) you find a charming story in a unique format. I'm very impressed at the way Myracle develops her characters through just IMs. The originality and engagement of the plot fell shortâthe issues were slow to develop and not discussed as deeply as they could've beenâbut on the whole, TTYL is a satisfying novel for the new teenage girl. This is a great way to get tweens into reading.

As being an adult, I didn't think I would care about this book too much, however I was drawn to it nd could not put it down. As soon as I finished I hurried and ordered the other two. It is a short read with not alot of thought. It is a tale of friendship, which I loved!

TTYL by Lauren Myracle is a young adult book written entirely in computer IM language. The change in colors and fonts for each of the three girls make it easy to read, and the presentation and voice are both highly appealing to the teen reader.

Snow Angel, Mad Maddie, and Zoegirl have been best friends for, like, four years. This is the story of their friendship and their commitment to be there for one another, no matter what. Like when Snow Angel finds her true love (not the same one from a couple of weeks earlier), and falls apart when he cruelly dumps her. Like when Mad Maddie, in an effort to try to be in the "it" crowd, goes to a party, gets drunk, and finds herself in the middle of an Internet scandal as a result. Like when Zoegirl trusts the wrong teacher and finds herself in hot water.

Over and over, the girls come through for one another, even if they are in the middle of a fight. The emotions and relationships are real and the dialogue is cutting edge. The reader will most likely identify with at least one of the girls. You'll care for them so much you'll feel great relief when they bail each other out of one predicament after another.

This was a fun read and I can't wait to read the next books in this series.

"ttyl" is the story of the friendship between four teenaged girls, and is written entirely in instant message conversations. I intially bought it because I was curious to see if the author could really pull off an entire novel in this format. I was pleasantly surprised by this book, and really enjoyed it. A great, fast read. :o)

I wanted to read this book because it was entirely written in Instant Messages. I thought that the IM format worked reasonably well, and it was an easy read, but I am not interested in continuing with this series.
