The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror
The Stupidest Angel A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror
Author: Christopher Moore
Christmas crept into Pine Cove like a creeping Christmas thing: dragging garland, ribbon, and sleigh bells, oozing eggnog, reeking of pine, and threatening festive doom like a cold sore under the mistletoe. — 'Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through the tiny community of Pine Cove, California, people are bu...  more »

Teeheehee.

I love Christopher Moore's books. There are none better when I need cheering up! It's interesting how he uses the same characters again and again.

This was a light, easy read that almost had a slap-stick comedy feel to it. It did start out a little slow but it picked up about half-way through. I do have to say though, that I've like his other books that I've read better than this one. I also found out, after reading it, that a bunch of characters were from some of his books that I haven't gotten around to reading yet, so this one should be read after you've read:

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal
The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
Practical Demon-Keeping
Island of the Sequined Love Nun

Although, it's only if you like reading about characters to get that nostalgic feeling. I did fine without it.

Overall, it's pretty funny and there were a few moments where I'd get a good laugh out.

A new spin on vulgarity. Otherwise, this author has a few screws loose and the story is very engaging. Hooks you in and is hard to put down.

A quick read. Highly entertaining! A bizarre Christmas tale with the darker side of human nature and some far-fetched storytelling, but some of the funniest lines I've ever read. Don't expect to take it seriously in any way and don't count on it to be a heartwarming tale to put you in the Christmas spirit. Good laugh-out-loud fun, though.

This is truely one of the funniest books I've read-the funniest of Moores works too I think and that's nothing to sniff at! In this book he has a really funny story line that has several of his past characters in it. Read it you wont be sorry!

When reading a Christopher Moore book, you have to be willing to suspend belief, just "go with it" and hang on for the ride. This is my 3rd Moore book. I previously read Bloodsucking Fiends and The Island of the Sequined Love Nun. I was happy to see Tucker and Roberto (the fruit bat) back. It felt like saying hello to an old friend.

This is not high brow reading folks, this is insane writing with unbelievable characters in impossible situations. But that's the point. It's utterly hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing through several parts of this. I had to put it down for a while after the "Christmas Amenesty" tirade, I just couldn't see from laughing so hard.

The last 1/5 of this book comes out of nowhere... that's exactly what makes this author's writing so good... you never know what to expect.

Well worth a read, just "go with it".
