Uplifting story of two elderly friends and the young girl who enters their lives. They are all lonely and help each other out.

The Story of Arthur Truluv by Elizabeth Berg is a story about loneliness and about friendship that can be found in the unlikeliest of places and about the family we create. The book is not really about the specific plot line or even the development of the characters. It is about the emotion. It is that feeling which draws me in and keeps me reading. Perfect for when I need a sweet, feel good story.

This was an absolutely heart gripping story. If you love warm and fuzzy books with characters that become like family, I recommend reading all three books about Arthur and friends. You will laugh, cry and learn about life and love.

Very sweet story, reminded me of A Man Called Ove in a way. Lonely widower Arthur goes to visit his wife Nola at the cemetery every day. One day he meets another lonely soul there, a high school girl, Maddy, with issues stemming from the fact her mother died right after her birth and her father had been indifferent to her all her life. The third person in this equation is lonely neighbor Lucille, also looking for a friend. So many emotions, this book just tugged at my heart!
