Funny & suprisingly sweet

Ok is about it for me with this book. I do believe I'm getting tired of reading these sarcastic, supposedly funny type of books. I just didn't get it with this one.

The book took a long time for me to get into because of the Author's writing style
I stuck with it though and was rewarded with lots of laughs. There are also a lot of great recipes which I copied before passing the book on to the rest of my reading group.

Once you get on to her style, the book is a fast read and very entertaining.

Wryly funny yet bittersweet - written in a loose, conversational style similar to her sister's, Jill Connor Browne, of Sweet Potato Queen fame...

This wasn't really as funny as acclaimed....or maybe I just don't have the same sense of humor.

Full of local color and human interest. If you enjoy New Orleans, you'll feel like you've moved in. If you've been through a break=up, you'll understand the emotions.
