Did you know author Carly Phillips' real name is Karen Drogin? ! Solitary Man was first published in 1999 under her real name, and is a story of one man's search for himself and the love that helps him find his way. This proved to be a book I wished was part of a series!!!

I loved this book. It is another wonderful Carly Phillips book. It was different in tone than her other books, which tend to be more lighthearted and whimsical. You still care for the characters in those books, but this one seemed to make you want to hope for the main characters more. Both main characters seemed to be on a journey to find themselves before they could find each other. It was a highly entertaining book and I hated to see it end.

I did not like this book at all. The storyline has been done time and time again. A one night stand leads to a pregnancy. The father feels it's his duty to marry the girl and give the baby his name and protection. She doesn't want him to marry her for anything less than love but will for the sake of her child, thereby leaving the baby in a very tense, stress-filled environment. Oddly enough, I predicted the outcome of this book. Save your credit and get a better Carly Phillips novel.
