I actually liked this one much better than the last 2 shopaholic books. In this one, Becky is wrapping up her extended honeymoon only to find she has a half sister. She is shocked to learn that her sister is frugal and hates to shop. She wants to change her ways to impress her sister and that helped me to like Becky a lot more. I was very annoyed by her antics in Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and Shopaholic Ties the Knot because she wasn't learning anything or growing as a character for me. In this one, however, she had more depth and I liked that. Now I'm really looking forward to reading Shopaholic and Baby!

So far, this is the best of the Shopaholic series. I was frustrated with Becky. I really wanted to slap her silly. Her spending was outrageous. That's why it's taken me forever to get through this series. I can't handle the over-indulgence and stupidity of the main character. I guess I felt like her sister, Jess. Always the frugal one, pinching pennies wherever I can. But, unfortunately, I know people like Becky. They never realize how misguided and shallow they seem. It's always someone else's fault. With recession on the horizon, I hope these people realize the hole they've gotten themselves into and try to dig themselves out. There's time!

I was a bit disappointed in this one. I was rooting so hard for Becky, and her sister was so cold to her. I wanted more humor and warmth in this one.

This is the 4th book in a series of the Shopaholic. Becky Bloomwood, America's f avorite shopaholic, is back in a hilarious, heartwarming tale of a married life, best friends, and long-lost sisters (and the perils of simply having to own an Angel handbag!). This is a very good book. I have loved the whole series. Good reading.

this time around Becky, the spoiled, materialistic bumblehead is unemployed and married to her sure to be long-suffering lover Luke. They spend the early part of the novel honeymooning around the globe for a year while Becky secretly spends all sorts of dough on silly trinkets and other assorted things (such as two dining room tables!) that Luke doesn't want or need. How the business savvy Luke remains oblivious to her spending is beyond me but oblivious he is until they return home and the huge trucks arrive with all of her secret purchases. He frets about the finances and puts her on a budget and, of course, she has a secret credit card that allows her to continue to do major damage. Luke nearly works himself to death while Becky is off putting his career in jeopardy so she can buy a trendy bag. Serves him right for marrying the bubblehead, if you ask me.

When Becky returns home from her travels she discovers she has a half sister and is overjoyed with visions of shopping, sleepovers, popcorn and spending endless hours watching Pretty Woman and Sleepless in Seattle with her new sis. It's difficult to believe this woman is nearing 30 because she thinks like a tween, but what do I know? Much to Becky's dismay she quickly learns that her new sister isn't all she dreamed her up to be. First off she hates shopping, is super thrifty, is an environmental activist and wisely wants nothing to do with Becky. Due to Becky's wildly self-destructive antics the new sis warms up to her and opens up. This part of the book partially redeems Becky's silly behavior. As always, Becky means well in this novel and down deep has a good heart but she's such a materialistic airhead she makes me want to scream throughout most of the book. I'm sure I'll be back for more punishment when the next installment comes my way . . .

Definetley a classic Becky Bloomwood story here. She returns to London and finds a family secret waiting for her. She still struggles with finances and this book is quite hilarious. Not my most favorite in the series, but still fun and quick.

Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) returns from an almost-year-long honeymoon with husband Luke. When some of her souvenirs are delivered to their London flat, Luke is beyond furious with Becky's out of control shopping. (To be honest, her over-the-top spending habits get a bit tiresome after 3 books.) Becky manages to get rid of almost all her stuff on eBay, but also sells off some of Luke's gifts to prospective clients. In the meantime, Becky learns of a long-lost sister and yearns to have a chummy relationship with Jess, who's having none of it. How does it get reconciled - not the way you'd think? An enjoyable read for a lazy weekend.

Even though I love this series, this is my least favorite book of them all. The wit is missing, the humor. Rebeca meets he long lost sister who is the exact opposite of her and they end up forming a bond! The story is touching, but lacking what the oprevious has offered.

Our favorite shopaholic is back-with tons of souveneirs from her honeymoon she must fit into a bachelor pad! The internal and external stuggles with adjusting to married life will hit home with everyone. The addition of a unknown sister into the mix and the development of their characters was pure genius. Great read!

If you are a Shopaholic fan you must read this book. It builds the life of Becky Bloomwood. Overall, it was not my favorite Shopaholic book, and I would not recommend it to someone that was just discovering the series. It mainly served the purpose to build characters in the series, and developed Beckys and Lukes marriage.

Becky meets her half sister. It was weird, and I was worried about it at first because they didn't seem to have anything in common. The sister kind of seemed mean in the beginning. Becky of course lies and shops and lies and shops some more, and this annoys the sister. But they eventually get to know each other better. And Becky is so optimistic, and she always strives to make the best of everything. And everything always seems to work out for her, but I won't give away details. If you like any of the other Shopaholic books, you'll like this one, too.

This is always a fun, fast read. I love Kinsella's writing and I think the main character, Becky, is hillarious. She is so many women. She's always getting herself into trouble and thinking everything will turn out fine. The whole series is fantastic. As in the previous books, Becky always manages to "over-spend" and this is no exception when Luke and she are on their extended honeymoon. But when they get back to Londaon, Suze has another god friend and Becky finds out she has a sister... A sister who couldn't be more unlike Becky!

Becky and Luke get into it before he leaves fo5 a job. And Becky leaves to learn from her sister, without telling anyone where she is going. As usual, Becky gets into a fix. But Suze has gotten vibes that she is in trouble and comes to the rescue.

I really liked this book -- better even than the first three books.

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) returns with a vengeance in bestseller Kinsella's fourth Shopaholic novel. Her 10-month globe-trot with hubby Luke was a shopping spree disguised as a honeymoonheck, Becky will walk across hot coals for an aquamarine necklace (and thereby trick her Sri Lankan yogi into thinking she's achieved enlightenment)but the problems of the real world (sort of) surface once the happy couple lands back in London. ("Luke's penthouse has its own lift right to the front door, which is just so cool!"). Even lovely Luke's patience is supremely tried when those two truckloads of purchases show up. What's worse: Becky's best friend, Suze, has found a new best friend, and her parents have discovered another daughter. Seems Dad had a fling with a train stewardess back in the 1970sand Jessica was the result. Becky is over the moon, picturing heart-to-heart talks, shopping excursions, sisters' nights out and so forthso she's totally unprepared for the actual Jessica, a frugal environmentalist who (gasp!) actually hates shopping. Prattling Becky tries to charm her sis, but it doesn't seem to be working; meanwhile, Luke is preoccupied with his job, and then there's that stranger from Milan whom Becky owes for getting her that impossibly perfect Angel bag... what does he want with Luke?

Midly tiresom it is very much like the first two in the series with the main caractor repeating the same mistakes that land her into downfall but some how managing to charm her way out of her troubles with out so much as an inclicling of learning from her past woes. Well, this one was quite cute, too. I liked it quite a bit! Although some minor details bothered me, but it really doesn't detract from the fun of the series, really. I mean, they are supposed to be silly books - and this one with its rather outlandish plot was the silliest of them all. I must admit, however, I am disappointed that the next book is the last in the series...

Becky (Bloomwood) Brandon and her new husband Luke take an almost year long honeymoon around the world. But Becky finds out that her world at home has been turned upside-down. Her best friend Suze, now a mother of 3 children, has seemingly found a replacement best friend who fits in with her new way of life. However, Becky also learns that she has a long-lost sister, so she's convinced that this is the perfect chance to have a new best friend. But Becky's plans of shared shopping experiences go awry when she learns that Jess HATES shopping and is very thrifty. She appears to be Becky's opposite in almost every way. Becky also learns that a secret purchase she made on her honeymoon could end up ruining her marriage with Luke due to a connection with a convicted criminal who now seems to want payback from Becky. Becky is determined to make both her relationship with her sister and with her husband work, but at what cost?

Once again, we see Becky get herself into the most bizarre jams- though this book has a bigger focus on her often disastrous attempts to forge a bond with her sister (though I was also highly entertained by Becky's attempts to hide the joint checking account statements from Luke as well as her secret and super-secret credit cards...not that you should keep things that like from your spouse, but it's funny to see how many "accidents" these statements have every month). In addition, the letters from creditors and banks that preface a number of the chapters as usual also get a new twist with a few from thrifty Jess as well. Although this book is quite entertaining, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, I'm not really sure why. Still, it's worth the read to find out what happens with the Shopaholic characters you know and (for the most part) love.

Book four of the Shopaholic Series and just as good as the first! I was addicted (pardon the pun) to all of these books. Sophie Kinsella is an amazing author. In this book our favorite shopaholic finds out she has a sister and can't wait to take her shopping! Will her sister be just as much of a shopaholic as she is? Read the book to find out!

My 14 year old daughter loved this book - and the series, as do many of her friends.

After taking a break from this series, this certain book was a welcome back. It was interesting to find out about a sister that was the exact opposite of Becky and I was surprised to see how much patience Becky had for their relationship.

I have been reading this series in order, and I think this is my least favorite one so far. I didn't think that this book was as humorous as the first few. And I felt that too many of the plot points were too unbelievable. And I went into this book thinking it would be more about the traveling for the honeymoon and was disappointed when it ended so soon after the book started.
But, all in all, still a good series. I love the character of Becky.

This book was a great addition to the shopaholic books, though I felt it was slightly less exciting than the first few by this author. All the same, Becky's adventures trying to make her sister like her were amusing and held my attention for the entire two days it took to read this book.

Not sure why this came up as "Shopaholic Sister", it's actually "Shopaholic and Sister". Another fun adventure with Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood).

The correct title of this book is Shopaholic & Sister. Another fun, quick read by Sophie Kinsella. Becky Brandon, aka Becky Bloomwood, continues to get in over her head again, and again all works out for the best in the end. If you've read any of the other Shopaholic books and liked them... you will enjoy this one too.

What's a round the world honeymoon if you can buy the odd souvenir to ship back home. Like the twenty silk dressing gowns Becky found in Hong Kong...the hand carved dining table (and ten chairs) from Sri Lanka...the, um, huge wooden giraffes from Malawai (that her husband Luke expressly forbade her to buy)...Only now Becky and Luke have returned home to London and Luke is furious. Two truckloads of those souvenirs have cluttered up their loft, and the bills for them are outrageious. Lunke insists Becky go on a budget. And worse: her beloved best friend has found a new best friend while Becky was away. Becky's feeling rather blue when her partnts deliver some incredible news. She has a long-lost sister!! Becky is thrilled! She's convinced her sisterr will be her true soulmate. They'll go shopping together, have manicures together... Until she meets Jessica for the first time and gets the shock of her life. Surely Becky Boolmwoods's sister can't...hate shopping?

Becky has a sister who doesn't like shopping and is frugal. Nothing like her but just like her with her own passions. What a surprise!!!! A funny story and a page turner. I couldn't put it down until I read the last page. I think you'd like it too!
