This book is abridged, and abridged audiobooks never do the whole book justice. With that being said, this book was entertaining and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Typical John Saul book---okay story line, fairly contrived, but a fast read.

It's been awhile since I've read a John Saul book. This book is another outstanding one!
It'll make you think about computers and the possibilities.
ITS ALSO A SCARY BOOK.
Once you start to read it hard to put down.
Highly Recommend!

"A fast and frightening read. Saul has written a tale with surprising twists and a full cast of characters, some delightfully malevolent. A tense, high-tec psychological suspense thriller...with a delightful final twist."

Josh MacCallum is a genius who is picked on in regular schools. He is sent to a place called The Academy. There are a group of genius children living there. The children of the academy are used for a scientific experiment. The doctor running the academy is trying to create a computer that thinks on its own. This all leads to a terrifying end.

They call it the Academy. A secluded, cliff-top mansion overlooking the rugged Pacific coast. A school for children gifted - or cursed - with extraordinary minds. Children soon to come under the influence of an intelligence even more brilliant than their own - and unspeakably evil. For within this mind a dark plan is taking form. A plan so horrifying, no one will believe it. No one but the children. And for them it is already too late. Too late, unless one young student can resist the seductive invitation that will lead...into the shadows.
