This book paints facinating picture of life in early Toronto and surrounding area, as well as, involving the reader once again in the antics of the Rogues.

Set in Canada during it's early colonization. This is the story of an aristocrat forced to choose- the independent western bride vs the approval of his privileged family in England.

Not one of Beverley's best book, but still a good read.

Simon St. Bride's story starts in Canada. Plans for returning home to England are upset by a duel in which he is wounded, and by Jane Otterburn, a young woman whom he feels honor bound to marry. Excellent story. Makes me want to re-read some of the earlier Rogue stories of Beverley's.
If you like the Rogues series you'll like this. It is Beverley's latestin that series.
