Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (born 1972) is an American writer whose parents were both émigrés from Nicaragua. He is known for his work on the comic books, Marvel Knights 4, Nightcrawler (vol. 3), and The Sensational Spider-Man . Dead of Night (vol. 2), featuring Man-Thing and hosted by Digger of Tower of Shadows.
Aguirre-Sacasa received his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, where he studied playwriting under Donn B. Murphy. He then graduated from the Yale School of Drama in 2003 where his play Rough Magic, an interpretation of Shakespeare's The Tempest was produced.
His plays include Based on a Totally True Story, Bloody Mary, Rough Magic, Dark Matters, Good Boys and True, The Mystery Plays, and Say You Love Satan.
He is one of the writers of the HBO hit series Big Love.
In 2006 Roberto received a GLAAD Media Award nomination (Outstanding New York Theater) for his play Golden Age and the prestigious Harvey Award (Best New Talent) for his work on Marvel Knights 4.
In May, 2008 Aguirre-Sacasa returned to the Fantastic Four with a Secret Invasion tie-in mini-series and an Angel Revelations mini-series with artists Barry Kitson and Adam Polina, respectively. His current project is The Stand, a comic book adaptation of Stephen King's epic novel of the same name.
Working Theater presented "King of Shadows," which had its world-premiere in New York City in the Fall of 2008, directed by Connie Grappo.
Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD presented the world-premiere of Roberto's play "The Picture of Dorian Gray" from the novel by Oscar Wilde in the Summer of 2009.
South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA presented the world-premiere of Roberto's play "Doctor Cerberus" in the spring of 2010.
Dallas Theatre Center in Dallas, TX will present the world-premiere revival of the musical of "It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman". Music by Charles Strouse, Lyrics by Lee Adams and featuring a completely revised book by Roberto in the Summer of 2010.
In 2009 Roberto and Tonci Zonjic finished Marvel Divas published by Marvel Comics. Issue #1 was released in July 2009. In this year, he also began working as a writer for the HBO series Big Love, a position he continued in 2010 during the show's fourth season.

In February 2010 announced he will write the storybook of the Musical adaption from American Psycho.
