Robert Sullivan is a poet from New Zealand who is of Nga Puhi descent. He has published several collections which explore dimensions of contemporary urban experiences, including local racial and social concerns. His writing has a post modern feel and centres around mainstream New Zealand issues while linking these issues back to the past. In the collection Star Waka, these contemporary issues are linked to ideas of classical Greek and Roman mythology.
