As always I have never picked up a book by Tamera Alexander that I haven't loved. Thhis was an excellant book that started with a marriage that could have been more than it was and ended with the two people coming together again after going thru many trials and being happier then they thought possible. despite what they had been through.

Tamara Alexander's first book is a great one. Rekindled starts off so strong you just can't abandon it. He's home. He's dead. His wife's moved on. Larson is not a happy man. And yet, as a new Christian, he's more at peace with the world than he's ever been. Still, he probably should have just gone up and said, "Honey, I'm home." But where's the story in that? He pulls back, then she doesn't recognize the scarred drifted, then he sees her going into a brothel and assumes the worst, then......
Alexander begins with a bang, then she lets the story grow. Larson and Kathryn make mistakes and trust the wrong people and in the end, love triumphs over all in the sweetest way possible. A beautiful book that was a delight to read and I already know which secondary characters I want to star in the sequel, and book three.

This was a great book and I was hooked on reading from the start and could not put it down. I don't know if she has written the second book yet, but if not I can hardly wait till she does.

My first introduction to Tamera Alexander who is now one of my favorite inspirational fiction authors. This book is her first, and it is fabulous! It is the first of a 3-part series, Fountain Creek Chronicles. Since reading this one, I have not stopped buying her books as soon as they are released. She has won Christy/RITA awards for most of her books.

I absolutely loved this book! I am now reading #2. This book caught me by surprise, lots of twists. I could not stop thinking about it once I had to put it down. This is the second book I have read of Tamera's and I have then all on my wish list now. She is a very unique author, never the same old, same old.

I had thought I was getting a different book and was disappointed when Rekindled came. However I found I could not put it down. It was very thought provoking for my own life. I find myself asking what if I could look at this relationship from another view. If I didn't know there were so many other swappers hoping for this book I would be tempted to keep it... So enjoy the book too!

Do you fall in love with the exterior or the interior person? Kathryn loved her husband Larson who was attractive but held back his interior person from her. Ten years later after Larson's death, Jacob enters Kathryn's life and she sees past the exterior body and falls in love with the interior person whom he shares freely and opening with her. A compelling and thought provoking story of second chances. This story held my interest from the first paragraph to the last. I will be looking for the next book in this series.

Kathryn and Larson have had a so so marriage of 10 years. Larson has trust issues because of his upbringing which his wife knows nothing about. Kathryn came from a privileged background and was first drawn to Larson for his looks. She married against her father's wishes, and after they move to the Colorado territory, she hears nothing from her father after her mother dies.
Larson leaves on Christmas Eve to check northern pastures when a snow storm blows in. While the ranch hands are driving the cattle to market, all the cattle are killed leaving no money for Kathryn to live on. When the weeks turn into months and Larson still has not returned, Kathryn has to make some business decisions and finds out the truth about their financial situation. She also discovers she's expecting and has to move into town.
Meanwhile, Larson has had his own troubles and trials, nearly losing his life in a fire. The kindness of the couple who take him in and tend his wounds leads him to reading the Bible and seeing how he needs to change his ways. When he finally returns he sees his wife at a grave grieving. Everyone but Kathryn believes he is dead, and even though a body is found and assumed to be his, in her heart she doesn't believe it. Larson decides not to reveal himself since no one recognizes him with the scars from the fire.
This was an amazing book, different from other Christian romance that I've read. Though this is book 1 in the series, it had a satisfactory ending, and I hope book 2 lets us see a little more of this couple.

Kathryn and Larson have been living on their ranch in Colorado on Fountain Creek for ten years. They have had a hard time making ends meet. Larson has trust issues because of his upbringing (and having an unfaithful mother) and is upset that he can't give his wife what she desires: a child.

Kathryn just wants her husband to see her for who she is and trust her. She prays that God will ease his life, but it is hard to feel loved by him at times. She wakes up to find that he is missing on the day of Christmas. She will wait for him however long it takes.

Larson goes to see about business, but on his way he is attacked and suffers from burns and is left for dead. A kind couple takes him in as he heals and regains his strength while recovering from his burns. Months pass and he worries for his wife and their ranch. He finally understands about God's love for him and decides to be a better man and is ready to go back home, but it won't be easy to get his life back considering everyone thinks he is dead.

This was a good story and I enjoyed the lessons of faith, love, and trust. I look forward to reading the next books.
