Very good read. Set in 2059 in New York City with Lt. Eve Dallas as the Detective with the NYSPD. Married to one of the richest men in the world and one of the smartest when it comes to electronics, Eve usually gets her husband to help her solve the murders assigned to her and her partner Detective Peabody.

I LOVE all of Nora Roberts (writing as J.D. Robb) In Death series books and this one doesn't disappoint. The dynamics and interplay with Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke is great as always. Another great one by Nora Roberts aka J.D. Robb!

Lt. Eve Dallas as been assigned a case where a quiet man, bleeding from his nose and ears, suddenly goes berserk and bludgeons his neighbor. An autopsy shows massive brain swelling. While doing a routine check of the victim's computer, Electronics Detective Kevin Halloway suddenly becomes violent and takes Captain Feeney hostage. He is subdued and later dies. His autopsy also shows brain swelling. Eve and company must figure out who has infected the computers and how it is passing the virus on to humans.

This was an interesting addition to Robb's In Death series. All the regular characters are brought in to help with the case. There are also some minor characters that are brought back from previous books. Looks like we'll see more of them in the future. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Something is making normal people go very violent. Behavior gets out of control fast.
This book has a larger role than normal for Feeney. Also gives us much more of a look at Roarke's family in Ireland.

Lt. Eve Dallas finds herself up against a group of terrorist-vigilantes attacking those they feel have escaped justice using a computer virus that fatally jumps to people. A horrible death awaits those infected, and Eve must risk Roarke, Feeney, McNab, and many others close to her as she tries to prevent the terrorists from taking over - a fight that means she has to deal with political and media issues as well.

The storyline is a great foil for all the complicated relationships this series is known for - the push and pull in the marriage of Eve and Roarke, the friendships she never wanted but couldn't now live without, etc. There is a very fun moment half of the way through the story with Mavis (love Mavis!) that completely throws Eve for a loop (don't want to spoil it for you) and shows how much she is willing to change to keep her friends, even in situations that throw her completely out of her depth.
