This is an imaginative, funny and charming story in the genre of mixed-up fairy tales. A boy requests his father tell him a bedtime story, and as his father's tale unfolds, the boy can't help but repeatedly make suggestions which result in wild swings to its plot. In contrast to the silly story, you see how the father's indulgences reveal his love for his son. That's the charm that makes this picture book worth reading aloud again and again.
