This book begin in London with a young heiress who was raised by her wealthy grandmother, jilted by her fiance, she sent to an uncle in Scotland, only to return as her grandmother lay dying and arranging to distribute her fortune to the beloved granddaughter though an arranged marriage to a Mountain Man from America. Her sister & husband both die leaving their twins to her care. Her wicked uncle, left out of the will seeks to find her and recover the inheritance by foul means. Her new husband becomes her protector and love develops.

One fo my favorites by julie garwood, this one takes our love birds to the american west so she can rescue her sisters children from the horrible uncle and while theirs is supposed to be a marriage of convience it of course becomes more than that as these two strong willed and smart people discover what it means to trust/

Funny romance. My favorite kind where the heroine seems ditzy but is actually quite clever.

She is very independent because she is canny of the responsibility of caring for her young nieces and keeping them from her uncle's depraved clutches. He is ruggedly American and drawn to her agsinst his will.... WONDERFUL!!!

This book was very entertaining to read, You just love the heroine!!
This book had potential. I was interested in how an English lady would manage in rustic Montana.But of course she knoew exactly how to run her rustic house without servants all by herself.No challenges for her.Her "babies" annoyed me and her pregnant friend took up too much of the story.

So good! Garwood has such a sweet, funny, and detailed writing technique. I love her style and the way she brings characters to life. This book as a great read with a little unexpected twist at the end!
Loved this story, it was a real "can't put it down" kind of book. Love historic romance & this one fit the bill. The time-out part at the end was a little unbelievable...but other than that great!
Fantastic book, great author
Lady Taylor is forced by her grandmother to marry Lucas Ross. Taylor's grandmother is dying, and she wants to leave Taylor her money, but knows that her evil uncle Malcom will try to take everything as soon as she is gone. Lucas and Taylor flee to America, where the two fall in love. But, Taylor is on a mission unknown to Lucas... to find her dead sister's twin babies. When it is found that the babies are missing, Lucas and Taylor start a search that can only lead to true love.
This book has never been opened. Received as gift and had already read it. I love Julie Garwood's books.
Sweet, charming, and Very Funny!
While Lady Esther lay dying, she devised a plan to protect her granddaughter, Taylor, from Esther's greedy son. She arranges a marriage between Taylor and Lucas Ross, an American who has agreed to take Taylor to Boston and away from her lecherous uncle. Taylor is also on a mission to find her late sister's children. Once in America they can go their separate ways; but Lucas and Taylor get to know each other on the ship journey, and both are reluctant to part their ways once they reach their destination. When they reach Boston, Taylor goes to retrieve her twin nieces only to find they have been kidnapped. Lucas promises to help her get the children back and keep them safe.
This is one of my favorite Julie Garwood books. There is a quick moving story, humor, and even a secondary romance. But beware...do not listen to the abridged audio. The narrator does a good job with the voices, but the story has been chopped into so many pieces that it hardly makes sense. Stick to the book or the unabridged audio. You won't be sorry. My rating: 5 Stars.

Truly a feel good book. The title says it all. The hero is the Prince Charming most are looking for. This is the type of book that I read romance stories to get.
During the opening scenes of this story, Taylor Stapleton had been dumped by her fiance' and the most powerful force in Taylor's life, Lady Esther lay dying. The reader soon learns that Taylor's Uncle Malcolm is an unsavory charactor who is greedy and plotting how he will spend all of Lady Esther's money as soon as she is gone.
However, Lady Esther has the last laugh because she plots a scam that strips all the money from her son (Uncle Malcolm) and rewards Taylor and her sister's young twin daughters (who live in Boston). Lady Esther finds a husband for Taylor to protect her on the dangerous trip to America.
Although the story is almost 550 pages, it moves quickly. I thought Lucas Ross' adventure with a dishonest commander was unnecessary and weighed the story down.
