Helpful Score: 1
Another good one by Susan Andersen. Aunie's family have raised her to believe that her only value is her beautiful face. When her marriage falls apart, she determines to make something of herself, so that know one thinks of her as just another pretty face anymore. James has spent most of his life taking care of his brothers, who have let him. When he sees Aunie's battered face, he swears he is not taking on another responsbility....
FROM B&N:
A romantic suspense novel as riveting as Sleeping with the Enemy by the author of Shadow Dance. After her violent ex-husband threatens her, Aunie Franklin flees her home and travels to the Pacific Northwest to start again--but he finds her. Now Aunie doesn't know what to do. She doesn't want to die. But can she escape his iron grasp . . . before it's too late?

Engaging characters -- I enjoyed it!
Aunie Franklin runs across the country in order to escape her abusive ex-husband. She establishes a new life, including a love affair with comic book author James Ryder. When her ex-husband finds her, she must draw on her inner strength and newfound friendships to help her survive.
Fleeing Atlanta for the Pacific, Aunie prayed that he's never find her. But just when the nightmare was over, the threatening phone call began....he found her.
My first Susan Andersen book. I enjoyed it and would read another.
