I have found this series of books to be very enjoyable. The first book in the series "Prairie Rose" was so good that I couldn't wait to read the second one " Prairie Fire". It is a fast moving story which does link up with the first ,telling you what is going on in the lives of characters from the first book.
This second book brings back the character, Jack Cornwall who tried to reclaim his nephew in the first book. He makes friends with a sweet young lady,Caitrin Murphy, who helps him find his faith again.
Though a bit slower , I did enjoy this book which convinced me to buy the third in the series , "Prairie Storm".
If you are a lover of western romance, like I am, you will find enjoy these books immensely as I did.

The second book in a series you'll love!
"Jack Cornwall has lost everything he's ever fought for, everything he's ever loved.
He's lost his home, the Confederacy and its goal of a new and vital nation, and now his little nephew, Chipper. Grasping at the only ray of light to enter his life in recent years, Jack settles in Hope to be near the feisty, red-haired Caitrin Murphy - a woman whose zealous approach to life mirrors his own blazing personality.
But will the good people of Hope allow Jack to make a fresh start? Will Caitrin deny her family in her desire to help Jack? And will the long-kept Cornwall family secret destroy the hopes and dreams they have begun to build together?
From the ashes of the refiner's fire can emerge beauty both graceful and enduring. In PRAIRIE FIRE, the flames that threaten to consume the town called Hope are overcome by the flood of love and forgiveness in the hearts of Caitrin Murphy and Jack Cornwall."
