If you follow the author's blog then i am sure you know most of the begining of this story. Ree Drummond is a woman who's grown up with the good things in life. Her father is a prominent orthopedic surgeon, she grew up with ballet and the arts, lived on the edge of a golf course and knew nothing about the 'country life'. Then she unexpectedly met a hunky cowboy in a bar one night while having drinks with her hometown friends on a return trip to her childhood home for a short vacation before moving to Chicago to begin her career after college. That one night changed the whole course of her life.
Her whirlwind romance reads like a harlequin novel, with her sense of humor injected. I enjoyed reading how it all unfolded. It's amazing to see where it's all gotten her now, her hugely followed blog, t.v. appearances, a cookbook and now this book. I've heard rumors there might even be a movie in the works?

Thoroughly enjoyable. I fell completely in love with the Marlboro Man. I would have finished it in two days if my job hadn't interfered.

Absolutely loved it, have since bought six copies for friends and family, I cherish the warmth, love, tears, and of course getting to know Ree and hunky hubby better. Hated for it to end, hope she will write a sequal and many more. Love watching her cook, and seeing the kids grow. Such an amazing family and perfect parents. Pa Pa is such a sweetie, raw steaks and chocolate....his favs. I look forward to more cookbooks also, have all so far. Hugs Pat

A true love story EXACTLY the way you would WANT it to be...EXACTLY the way it OUGHT to be!!!
Best if you don't know much about the story beforehand or read the flaps. Just start reading. More exciting that way.

I listened to this one on disc and thoroughly enjoyed it. Read by the author, it is a charming love story which covers her courtship with Marlboro Man, her wedding and the birth of her first child. I enjoyed it as much as her blog posts and the debut of her show on the Food channel recently. A welcome diversion from my usual reading material.

I loved everything about this book. The best part is knowing it's a true story. Ree is a natural born storyteller -- I had a hard time putting this book down. I wish she'd write a sequel!

It is a modern day love story. Very romantic and sweet. I had never read her blog so the book was all new to me. I really enjoyed reading it.

I had never heard of Ree Drummond and was hesitant about reading this book, but I was surprised to find a very real love story. Marlboro Man is every girls dream...
Well, so many readers loved this book but I found it it insipid and a bit boring. But it does have a cute dust jacket.
