What do you get when you cross a psychic therapist, a âhotâ fire demon, one determined reporter, three cockney demon bodyguards, zombies, witches, one messed up therapy group and a demon that is even hell is scared of? One of this summer's hottest paranormal reads!

Stacia Kane gives us some of the usual characters in a fresh and believable way. Megan is not your typical paranormal heroine; she does not kick butt right away and has some insecurities due to her past. But she overcomes them and finds herself in the process. Megan is not just the target of the personal demons (thanks to her show) but an array of paranormal beings that go from scary (the zombies) to a whole new definition of scary (the Accuser).

Grey is a fire demon, he may act nice and look really hot, but he will make sure that things turn out the way he wants them to. In a way, he is an anti-hero. Yes, he helps out Megan, but he keeps true to his sneaky demon ways; I find that refreshing.

The three characters I liked the best were Malleus, Maleficarum, and Spud, Megan's demon body guards. The brothers have cockney accents, healthy appetites, energy to spare and they take their orders quite literally.

Persistent reporter Brian took his assignment a bit too seriously for the fluff it should have been. I also was not too sure about the way he acted sometimes with Megan; it was like he was a jealous boyfriend when he did not have that ground to stand on.

This book has a great pace, action galore, steamy scenes, paranormal beings coming out of the woodwork and likeable characters that will have you reading late into the night.

Quoted from my review @ http://misscz.wordpress.com

Dr. Megan Chase is a psychologist and a psychic, which comes in handy when treating her patients. She reluctantly agreed to be the host of "Personal Demons," a call-in radio show, not wanting to subject the "male Nurse Ratchet of local counselors" on the truly afflicted. The show promises to help "slay your demons". If hosting the show wasn't bad enough (mostly crank callers and heavy breathers), the station wants her to do an interview - a feature article really - with a reporter from a tabloid-type newspaper. It will involve a photo shoot and the reporter, Brian Stone, following her around for the "week in the life" part of his article. Megan is definitely not thrilled by this prospect. She has patients to take care of and a few things in her own past she wants to stay in the past.

A handsome stranger, looking for all the world like a lawyer, tells her that he represents someone who is very interested in the show - more precisely, her - and would like to discuss a business arrangement. Too tired and in no mood to talk, Megan manages to shoo Greyson Dante off with a promise not to accept any other offers until they get a chance to speak again. What she doesn't know is that demons are real; that the term, "personal demons" wasn't just a euphemism for psychological problems. Everyone has a little demon on their shoulder (except, oddly enough, Megan). It's one thing to keep the demons at bay with therapy and counseling; it's something else entirely to offer to "slay" them. Apparently, the demon world is taking the term literally and they believe Megan is out to get them.

Weird, freaky things begin to happen and Megan's life is in danger. Greyson seems sincere in his offer to help her. Megan is sure he has an agenda, but she smart enough to know that she can't protect herself against the demons. She accepts his offer while trying to ignore the attraction. Greyson flirts with her, making it clear that he's interested. He assigns a trio of guard demons to keep an eye on her. At first, Megan's uncomfortable with the arrangement but after awhile, she forms a bond with them.

I really liked this book. I liked the concept of the personal demons and the world building in general. I liked the characters. Megan isn't a kick-butt heroine, but she's strong in her own way and she has a true desire to help people. Malleus, Maleficarum, and Spud - the trio - add a touch of humor.

Looking forward to the second book.

Megan Chase is "The Demon Slayer." Shes a psychic who is also a psychiatrist. She has her own practice, and just started a second job on a radio show where listeners call in, and she helps them slay their "Personal Demons." She also has strange (and sometimes sexy) men following her around town and showing up on her doorstep.

Megan has a dark past, and shes not ready for her sixteen year old self to come crashing back into her yet. She does have the support from a molten hot lover, three brother demons who are ready to kick ass or give her a makeover at a moments notice, a reporter who seems to be out to ruin her career, and a sassy witch with an insatiable hunger for...food.

I loved Stacias take on how Demons work, and the world they come from. Theres no holding back on the fight scenes, they are vivid and bloody (Just how I like em). What stands out most in this book of course are the characters. They pull you in making you want to learn more about them, and stay in their world longer. Megan is not perfect, shes not a super hero, and thats refreshing to read in a world of super powerful women. Now dont read into that the wrong way. She has powers, but not the physical fighting kind. Although, she can hang when entangled with humans.

The only thing that I wish there was more of, was Greyson Dantes past. Hopefully we will learn more about this in future books.

On that note its a good thing there will be a sequel to this in 2009 (Demon Inside), because we shouldnt be denied the hotness that is Greyson Dante, the charm that are Brothers Brown, or the strength that is Megan Chase.

I really enjoyed this book which has a different take on demons. Oh yeah, they're still evil but personal demons...everyone has one...found that kinda cool. The books starts slowly but if you can make it to chapter seven, wow will you be sucked in. Megan Chase is a psychologist who is doing a radio show (for extra money) and she is marketed as the Demon Slayer. This has brought out the demons in force to kill her before she can slay them. Greyson Dante, demon, shows up on here doorstep and is relentless in his quest for her attention. He is totally the highlight of this book. He's hot, sexy and determined to have Megan.

Her boss at the radio station is a total prick and for the life of me I can't figure out why she didn't just tell him where to go. Really who needs money that badly? Wait until you get to Art Bellingham, he's an ass too. And Brian Stone, the reporter, dogging her every step for a story, comes across as an ass but warms up. Man Megan sure can pick them. And when the personal demons and Templeton Black enter the picture, look out. The action is intense and suspenseful and her demon lover, Dante is hot as hell.
