This si a wonderful book for anyone that is looking for a book that unleashes the true evil nature of a young woman!
One of Cooney's earlier teen thriller books, and a clumsy one at that. The subject matter is actually a lot like the later book Twins, and while Cooney displays her usual skills at laying out her protagonist's thoughts, Dove often falls short of being a likable heroine. The one aspect of The Perfume that Twins doesn't have is a solid friendship between the main character and her acquaintances, which goes a long way in saving this book.
Dove doesn't want to buy the perfume. She doesn't like its scent, and its name--"Venom"--frightens her. But somehow she can't stop herself. And when Dove puts it on, the perfume unleashes something that has been locked away all her life--a frightening other self she never knew existed. From the bestselling author of The Cheerleader and Return of the Vampire.
