Book two of the Elizabeth Parker mysteries, this is another light read which continues to please while not over-taxing one's brain. The characters are well-drawn and while it's not a huge mystery to the reader once all the facts are in, there's a little bit of doubt to go along with the suspicion. Very enjoyable.

Murder on the Bride's Side is an okay follow up to Tracy Kiely's Murder at Longbourn. It was amusing, but I found the actual murder mystery to be rather obvious.

I love it when an author fools me and I don't guess the killer. I was completely off on this one. Elizabeth's BFF is getting married, but family feuds make the rehearsal and reception not too pleasant. To make it worse, the wedding planner is boyfriend's Peter ex-girlfriend, and she's trying to rekindle the flame. The morning after the wedding, Elizabeth finds one of the nasty in-laws dead on the terrace and the search for the killer begins.

I actually liked this mystery better than the first one! While the people were a bit tough to keep track of,the main ones were interesting and lively. I don't like strife in general in the personal relationships when I think the people are acting stupid (in my opinion they were) so that detracted from the story somewhat but hopefully it will be resolved and the next book can focus on the mystery more. Overall, looking forward to the next one!

The wedding went off without a hitch, but the morning after was murder. As maid of honor, Elizabeth Parker hoped the corpse she'd stumbled over wouldn't jinx her best friend Bridget's marriage. But at the historic Richmond plantation, where the bride's extended and clearly divided, deceiving and duplicitous family has gathered, somebody's out for blood.

The first victim, the conniving trophy wife of the bride's uncle, was a viper in lipstick. Loathed by all, Roni had wanted her ailing husband to sell the family business. Elizabeth would have to channel her inner Jane Austen to cut through the flurry of lace, lies and larceny among Bridget's family. Especially when someone tries to frame her by planting Roni's diamond necklace in her room. Strange twists, another dead body and a new suspect point Elizabeth in the direction of the darker truth - one she may just take to her grave.
