I took a break from my historical romance novels and read this. Boy am I glad I did. It was a page turner, reading it in 2 days. I loved how Jaine and Sam said and did what they felt, too many H/H don't act on their true feelings- they just meshed together after the initial idea of trying to exist as neighbors. The chemistry between them was great and the book made me laugh over and over again. I truly enjoyed this book and you will too!

This is one of Linda Howard's best books. What a great story! Plus there's romance, humor, intrigue and murder. A great combination. I never will forget the image that came to mind when the heroine caught her neighbor (a cop) at night, grabbing a drink from the refrigerator at night in the buff.... If you haven't read it yet, put it on your MUST READ list!

Really enjoyed this story about 4 friends who gain national attention for something that started out as a joke among friends during their weekly get together after work on a Friday night!

This book was fun, and I truly enjoyed it. I was in the mood for laugh-out-loud humor, which Howard delivered. There's a serious plot, with murder most foul, and it's not treated lightly.
The book I read is large-print, slightly oversized, and the 405 pages keep you interested to the very end. And I doubt that you'll figure out who-does-it before the author is ready to let you know!

Jaine Bright and three close friends share dinner one night and during casual conversation, create a list of qualifications for the perfect man--some logical, some hilariously funny, some racy. Within days, their tongue-in-cheek wish list of attributes for Mr. Perfect has been leaked to the press and the resultant publicity is overwhelming. Coworkers, TV crews, and reporters barrage the quartet with comments and criticism.
As if Jaine doesn't have enough to cope with, she has a new neighbor who she suspects is a criminal. She's relieved to learn that her neighbor is really an undercover cop, but she's still wary--because smart, sexy Sam Donovan handles her sharp witticisms with easy humor, and Jaine suspects that he may threaten her heart. What Jaine doesn't know is that she's about to need Sam desperately for something other than romance because her circle of friends is in big trouble. Unfortunately, that list of qualifications for Mr. Perfect has touched off a madman's rage. All of their lives are threatened and some of them are going to die, maybe all of them, if Sam can't stop the unknown killer.
Mr. Perfect brings to readers the quintessential Linda Howard hero, whose straightforward, "me Tarzan, you Jane" attitude plays well with a smart, witty heroine. The rapid-fire dialogue between the two is downright hilarious at times, even when the two are about to steam up the windows and burn up the sheets. It's difficult to balance this kind of humor and sensuality with edgy suspense, but Howard manages it with aplomb. If you enjoyed Heart of Fire and Dream Man, you're going to love this latest novel. It's drop-dead wonderful.--

4 women frustrated in a mans work decide to make up Mr. Perfect. Next thing the list is published and everyone is looking for the women. Murder, mystery, comedy, and great sex. What more does a female reader need to know? Who did it? The murder and the great sex? Couldn't put it down. Made an all nigher till I finished it. Found another copy the next morning at the thrift store. Picked it up for a dollar so more gals could read it. great book. Found another Linda Howard book at the same store. Hope I can put it down, cause I need some sleep before work tomorrow. Cathy
Well, I see this has a high rating already, but I wasn't impressed.
Love this book.... an good mix of mystery and Romance. I thought I knew who the killer was but I was surpried in the end. A thriller that keeps you hooked.
What would make the perfect man? That was the question Janie and her three friends were discussing over dinner. Their fatel mistake was making a list. The list got into the wrong hands not only causing the group problems with family and co-workers, but it also got them the attention of a very sick person. Can Janie and her neighbor the cop unmask a killer before he kills the friends.
Linda Howard is one of my favorites and this earlier romantic suspense did not disappoint. The dialogue is witty and I laughed out loud more than once. This abridged edition was a quick, entertaining listen.
As always Linda Howard is great!!
Wow! Linda Howard did it again. Fast paced fun, with a great hero & heroine. I just love her alpha males. This one is another keeper.
This is my first Karen Howard book and now I'm hooked!!! Such a fun read. I read it in two days and stayed up late to finish it!
