I love the Alex Delaware novels and this one is no exception. I couldn't put it down, as I had to know who did it. I love the scenes in the asylum for the criminally insane. Pyschology in general fascinates me, so any book that has a good portion spent talking with the staff and inmates in an asylum will get me hooked.

This is a great detective story. People are being murdered in grisly fashion and it leads back to a gruesome murder from years past. I love this book because it is much gorier and twisted than the average detective thriller. I love Agatha Christie-type mysteries, but this is like a horror-mystery combo and it's excellently written. A great read!!!

I found this book to be totally mesmerizing and very difficult to put down. Jonathan Kellerman knows how to keep the reader between the pages and this is another Alex Delaware book that just hits the spot. If you like murder mysteries, this one is for you.

This is a wonderful and fantastic book written by Jonathan Kellerman! It is totally worth your credit! (It's even worth 5 credits!)

All of the books that I've read by Kellerman seem to take a while to take off for me. But if I try to skip ahead I always end up having to turn back to find the key clues I missed in the process. Another great book in his Alex Delaware series!

It was a very intresting read, intense.
It's hard to praise Jonathan Kellerman adequately without repeating oneself, especially when it comes to another great Alex Delaware/Milo Sturgis novel like "Monster". The by-play of psychologist and homicide cop is always intellectually stimulating at the same time it's gut-wrenching. This one finds the pair battling not only the perpetrators but other psychologists who staff a maximum-security facility for the criminally insane with grave indifference (and a little culpability), and similarly indifferent "policing" groups. The bodies pile up and the mystery thickens as we jump from one suspect to another, and in the end despite the careful wrap-up one is invariably caught in a familiar pair of feelings: 'I wish I hadn't read that' battles with 'I'm glad I read that'. And yes, I'll go looking for another in the series.

An actor then a psychologist are both found mutilated. An barely funtiioning psychotic prison of an asylum seems to have knowlege of the crimes. Dr. Delaware and Milo have to unravel the truth before the monster stricks again.
The title says it all. Somewhat Hanibal Lecterish. With a psychologist acting as detective.. A little gruesome, but very exciting while being unsettling. Hopefully it is a work of fiction.

Jonathan Kellerman's writing style reminds me alot of Dean Koontz. There is some bloody graphic violence in this one but the book was a good read and kept me guessing.

Another book that was hard to put down. This is a really good author. Keeps you going right to the last page.
I didn't find it as good as Kellerman's other books I've read, but it was an interesting read. The end provides a twist that quite honestly I felt was predictable. However, I still enjoyed the story that was told.

THIS IS A GOOD ONE! I LIKE ALL ALEX DELAWARE BOOKS.
Was a hard book to get started. Went along fine for a while, then the details became clouded again. Seemed to go in many different directions at once. Hard to keep track of all of the characters and the plot. Finally at the end the book then once again became clear as to what was happening. Not sure I would read another Kellerman Book.
