Loved it! Lynn's writing is stellar as usual and her characters are a joy to read. Colin was one of my favorite secondary characters from This Is All I Ask and now his story is told. A pleasure to read.

While Kurland is known for her early time travel romances (some of my favorites), if you want a book that will make you laugh outloud and has some steam (lightweight compared to my usual reads but still steamy), pick this one. I loved Colin from his appearance in a few of Kurland's other books. For some reason these guys stay with you. Kurland knows how to spin pure escapism in a book that will make you feel good when you finished reading it. Not dark by any stretch and really worth the time. Enjoy!

In this sweeping, emotional love story, USA Today bestselling author Lynn Kurland takes us back to the thirteenth century--and all the passion and magnificence of medieval England.....

Colin of Berkhamshire knows two things--the pleasures of warring and that brides do not want him. Two years ago his bride-to-be, Alienore, fled and hasn't been seen since. Yet his father keeps foisting prospects on him. The lastest seems to do nothing but faint.

Alienore of Solonge knows two things as well--that fleeing not only Colin but also her scheming stepmother was the right thing to do. Yet as a knight in disguise she constantly fears discovery. At this point, she's not sure whom she fears more, the Butcher of Berkhamshire or her evil stepmother.

Through a bizarre twist of fate, she ends up journeying with her charge--Colin's latest intended--to England, where Alienore finds herself not only in the Butcher of Berkhamshire's garrison, but being made over into a knight by him personally. She thinks her life cannot worsen.

Until she begins to fall in love with him.......

A disarming blend of romance, suspense and heartwarming humor, this book is romantic comedy at its best.

All would be well except that the runaway bride, Lady Ali, now disguising herself as Sir Henri, is to escort Colin's new betrothed to him. Before she knows it, he takes her under his wing and begins training her. As Colin works with the young knight, he can't stop feelings of attraction from blooming, and he soon suspects that "Henri" hides a dark secret.

Matters become more complicated as a pair of villains plot against them. Leave it to the clever Ms. Kurland, however, to find a way out of the tangled web she weaves that leaves you smiling, satisfied and looking for more from these engaging characters and their delightful friends.
