Mister, You Got Yourself a Horse: Tales of Old-Time Horse Trading
Mister You Got Yourself a Horse Tales of OldTime Horse Trading
Author: Roger L. Welsch (Editor)
Plains folklorist Roger L. Welsch has edited a lively collection of stories by some master yarnspinners -- those old-time traveling horse traders. Told to Federal Writers' Project fieldworkers in the 1930s, these stories cover the span of horse trading: human and equine trickery, orneriness, debility -- and generosity.

I read this book years ago and thorougly enjoyed it. It is a collection of real life stories recorded by Federal Writers Project fieldworkers in Nebraska in the 1930s and 1940s.
The book will be of interest to those interested in horses, forklore and American history. In here are tales of men who made a living supplying horses at a time when horses were a major source of power and transportation in the American west. I was amazed at some of the antics that went on in those days. Some of these guys make used car salesment look like angels in comparison.
