This is the third (and maybe final?) book about the two cousins, Kate and Cecila. Once again the novel is told through letters back and forth from the two women. They are now both married and have children, and in this story letters from their husbands are also used to tell the story.
I enjoyed these three books very much. I still find the first one to be my favorite, however the second and third are great runners-up. I found the magic in this story to be a little bit more confusing because it delt with magic neither of the two cousins are familliar with, and therefore the characters were also confused about what was happening. The authors continue to be wonderfully in character, and I love the humor in the series. I highly recommend this story to anyone who has read the other two, but I don't think it would make a very good stand alone story.

This third installment of the "Magicians of Quality" series was not nearly so enjoyable for me as the first 2. Having letters between the husbands, the wives, and about all the kids was confusing to me.

The whole letter format thing was cool in the first book, but the uniqueness of it had worn off and I found myself wanting more info than was given. Also, everything was wrapped up SO fast. 9/10th's of the way through the book everyone is stumbling around without a clue as to which way is even up and then, SHAZAAM!, everything is solved in 3 super long letters. The final letters were not letters per se either. More like an actual text in a novel :-) Felt like the authors were cramming in things to finish up.

I enjoyed this, but would hesitate to recommend buying it. The first two made very good reads and were worth buying. Not so with this.
