Categories: Children's Books, Young Reader's Literature The Michael L. Printz award highlights works of literary excellence that are written for young adults. The relatively new award, named after a Topeka, Kansas high school librarian, was first presented in July, 1999. Mr. Printz was an active member of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), and dedicated his life to making sure his students had access to good literature. The award is sponsored by Booklist, a publication of the American Library Association. |
