Another winner in this series. Patterson & Ledwidge together have figured out how to make the reader feel like part of the "family", in this case, the Bennett family. What a great mixture of the crime-fighting, courtroom drama, and the close-knit family emotions in this book. Quite the page-turner. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

Wow.. Best Patterson book in a while! It was fast paced & a great read! Was surpised with the ending but am okay with it as I am expecting his next Bennett book to pick right up where this one left off!!
Didn't like ending at all, left me wanting a lot more.
This is the fifth book that I've read in the Michael Bennett series, and in my opinion, the most disappointing. The bad guy is so evil that it's going to take another book just to tell the rest of his story! Yup that's right -- this book ends with an obvious open-end, requiring me to read the next one in the series ("Gone") if I want to know the entire story. I was seriously disappointed that there was no conclusion at the end of this book. It dragged in parts, and wasn't particularly suspenseful.
I normally enjoy James Patterson books & especially the Michael Bennett series. But this one totally is a disappointment. Everything was going along fine & then the book ended. You have no idea what's going on. Patterson should not have to resort to a cliff hangar ending!
I now see reviews on Amazon where people actually thought that their Kindle's had broken down & had lost the last chapter or something.
I read the hardcover & there is an excerpt for his book ZOO at the end so I was shocked when there was a bunch of pages left but not more Michael Bennett.

Just love that Michael Bennett character! This was filled with action and intrique, but also lots of side story with his adorable 10 kids, nanny and priest grandfather. Had a rather abrupt and anusual ending however. I can only hope that the sequel will bring it to a close for us.

Another good Michael Bennett thriller from Patterson and crew. This one is, in my opinion, one of the best in the series so far. Bennett takes on a Mexican drug lord who is captured and then escapes during his trial in NYC. The drug lord seems to have unlimited resources and is considered a god by his followers who also worship a Mexican saint of death (Santa Muerte). In the mean time, Bennett's family (10 kids, his granddad, and Mary Catherine, the nanny) are vacationing upstate. While there, the drug lord manages to put a hit on two of the kids and ultimately, Bennett's entire family is threatened and in grave danger. A real page-turner that I would recommend!
I love the Michael Bennett character and this book did not disappoint. I finished it in two days. I am currently reading "Gone", the sequel. I highly recommend anything by James Patterson.
