After reading Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood, I had to read another and Mercy was not a disappointment. As with the other novel, this one more or less centered around a couple falling in love, replete with some steamy bedroom scenes. But the main plot of the book was about man's greed and how far he's willing to go and who he has to get rid of to attain wealth.

The only contemporary Julie Garwood that I've enjoyed since she started publishing this series of books. I really enjoyed it, but all of the follow ups have been very disappointing. This one is worth it, though.

This is a good mystery and Julie Garwood always writes good characters who have a sense of humor and make you laugh. It is about a group called "The Sowing Club" that gets caught up in greed. The FBI & a Justice Attorney end up in a little town called Bowman with a beautiful doctor. Then the fun begins.....

This book is part of the Buchanan sibling series. All have been very good books. The Buchanan books are: "Heartbreaker" (Nick), "Mercy" (Theo), "Murder List" (Alec), "Slow Burn" (Dylan), & "Shadow Dance" (Jordan). There is also an intersecting character story involving the brother of Michelle from Theo's story. "Killjoy" comes after "Mercy".

This is the 2nd book in the Buchanan-Renard series. Each book apparently is about different members of the Buchanan family or someone else introduced in a subsequent book. Heartbreaker the first was very good but Mercy was excellent. A couple of surprises makes it really interesting. Worth reading in order but not necesary to enjoy Mercy.
Not usually my genre, but great book for summer beach reading.
This book is the second in a series - good combination of romance and action - a little slow at first but it picks up. An enjoyable read for Garwood fans.

As the story starts to unfold with a sluggish start Then BAM!!!!! The book is up and running the seed has been sown and I massive outburst of page turning events keeps you reading Once the first bullet left its chamber I never put the book down!!! Excellent book of death defying escapes through the Louisiana's Bayous and more!! Great Read!

Being from Louisiana, I read just about anything that takes place there. The food, unique cultures and unusual characters make New Orleans a locale for a novel. This was a good book.

Romance, mystery, suspense; what's not to like
mystery..
Ms. Garwood has set the bar for romantic suspense! Heartbreaker was good, but Mercy was Wonderful. It picked up right away and was fast paced. Mercy was a perfect balance of mystery, suspense, comedy and sexy. Michelle and Theo were great and had awesome secondary characters. It will leave you hungry for more.

This was one of those books that make you think about life. I loved the twists and turns of it. This is a great series to pick up.
This one starts out slow. It took well over 100 pages to really get going and become a thriller. You could see what was going to happen but that didn't stop it from being interesting. The ending is somewhat open and allows the reader to draw their own conclusions. Overall a good book.

Now he has recovered and has decided to take some time off and visit the Louisiana bayou after Michelle's father, Big Daddy Jake, invited him to go fishing. When Theo arrives in the small town, he learns that someone has broken into Michelle's clinic and smashed everything. Michelle doesn't understand why someone would do this. She doesn't keep drugs on the premises. When someone comes gunning for Michelle and Theo, they are running for their lives with a band of gunmen hot on their heels.
I thought this book was a big improvement over the previous book in the series. I loved this book. The characters were bold, the story was good and the twist at the end caught me kind of by surprise. That's not easy to do. I loved the bayou setting and the family dynamics. A really good read. I will try to find more in this series.

The story takes place in New Orleans. The main character is Justice Department attorney with a crime-fighting career. An excellent contemporary suspense book with well developed characters and a little romance sprinkled in to make the book more intriguing.

While Mercy has strains of the norm, it is given enough spice to make me not want to put the book down! I loved the relationship between the main characters and of course adding Noah (from Heartbreaker) with a few zingers made it hard for me not to chuckle out-loud while reading at work!

Someone gave me this book but I haven't read it b/c it's not really my type. The synopsis on the back seemed fairly interesting though.
