Jason want to breed and race horses, primarily his very own horse, Dodger, who's faster than a Baltimore pick pocket. When his twin takes Jason to a racing stud farm near his home, Jason is absolutely certain that this is the property he needs to procure. Unfortunately, Hallie Carrick wants the farm as well, and she is prepared to fight him down and dirty for it.

The scene is Lyon's Gate, 1835, in England. Prepared to be enthralled with this story.

UH! This was the pits! Catherine Coulter should be ashamed she published something this attrocious! Stupid plotline, stupid heroine, (what a ditz!) And the hero can only think about his screw up from 5 years ago, get over it!

Catherine Coulter brings readers the eighth book in the bestselling Sherbrooke Bride historical romance series. In the New York Times bestseller Sherbrooke Twins, Catherine Coulter introduced us to twins James and Jason Sherbrooke, two of the handsomest, most charming young men ever to grace the Sherbrooke family. James, the elder twin, is devoted to his family's land, and is now settled and married to the girl next door. Jason, however, can't forgive himself for his role in the events of five years ago, when his own willful blindness endangered the lives of his father and twin. He fled England, unable to face his family's love and acceptance, and has spent five long years in exile, trying to learn how to live again. Now Jason has returned, and his family will do anything to keep him in England. When he shows interest in purchasing Lyon's Gate, a stud farm near Northcliffe, they are overjoyed-but there is a complication, in the lovely form of Miss Hallie Carrick, an impetuous, outspoken young lady who may have just what it takes to fire the spark of life in Jason again.

Continuing story of the Sherbrooke twins.
More of the same, perhaps less sex than usual, but it is always nice to keep up with the family.

Book was good- but to me it didn't have a punch.

It didn't add up to my expectations. Too much going on a and a lot of connections with previous books by Coulter.

I did like to know more about Alex and Douglas, my favorite couple from the whole series.

I guess I was hoping for a more deep story. It was funny at times but too many things going on and most of the characthers just plain silly.

I was not all that impressed by this latest one. It almost seemed like she was bored when she wrote it. Like she was just writing the story to get it over with. The writing is superb as usual, however there is none of the dark suspense or heavy romance. However, I did find myself having to read all of it to find out what happens...then I was like," uh...okay."

After a self-imposed five-year exile, Jason Sherbrook purchases Lyon's Gate, an English stud farm. There he meets Miss Hallie Carrick, whose papers reveal that she has purchased the property, too. With the sale in dispute, the seller makes a decision based on the wisdom of Solomon. Anne Flosnik's narration is superb, as are her characterizations of major and minor British characters, which are so good they give the sense of multiple narrators. Her depiction of the kindly but pompous butler, with an imperious tone and upper-crust accent, makes him a memorable character.
