I always look forward to a new Kyra Davis novel and I am a big fan of the Sophie Katz series. The 4th Sophie Katz novel Lust, Loathing and a Little Lip Gloss was terrific. In Lust, Loathing and a Little Lip Gloss the entire cast of characters has returned with more depth. Sophies lover Anatoly is sexier, Dena is more flirtatious, and Marcus is more adorable. Sophies realtor ex-husband has such a deal on a San Francisco Victorian that finding the owner dead in his in the home doesnt put her off. She really wants that house, even if she has to fight with a ghost, her boyfriend or her mother in order to get it. The background mystery is fun, but the exploration of relationships between men and women is what really draws in your heart. The relationship between Sophie and her lover, between Sophie and her father and between Sophies mother and father are genuinely endearing. Add in a stalker and an egalitarian polygamous relationship (two men and two women committed to one shared relationship) and you have added the final elements of a Sophie Katz novel. I totally recommend it.

I am really enjoying this series except for one thing - some time inaccuracies. In this book, her nephew is two years old, but from her second installment, which supposedly happened a year and a half to two years before, he was 18-months old. He doesn't seem to be getting older at the same rate as everyone else!

Despite inaccuracies such as this, this series is a fun, easy read. I find myself drooling over Anatoly, and he's only a character!
