A little too wordy in a few spots, but an excellent story with good character development and several cliff-hanging moments.

Love, love, love this book! The only reason I am posted it for trade is that I ended up with two copies!! Perfect reading for people who like science, adventure, dinosaurs, and intelligently written prose. Infinitely better than the movie!

The sequel to Jurassic Park. This story is well-written, entertaining and VERY easy-to-read.

The book that the movie, Jurassic Park was based upon. Only the book was much, much better. Read it and see.

Great sequel! If you've seen the movie and not read the book, then read the book! The movie is a poor and warped translation of the movie. Ian Malcolm returns (from the dead)to the island where his misadventures started. Hot on the trail are a rival company's cronies to steal the dino DNA technology. New twists to dinosaur behavior add to the story started in Jurassic Park.

Great Book! Crichton is one of my favorites!

I loved this book. I'm not sure how they managed to break the 2 books into 3 movies, but i have to say it was done poorly and is very disorganised. The survivors to Jurrasic Park captured my attention for the whole of the read. I couldn't put it down!

A page turner, just as much kinetic fun as Jurassic Park.

it was ok... definatly preferred the first book overall. Kind of confused how ian malcom supposedly died and the first book and crichton brought him back. good book though, way better than the movie.

I know everyone knows the story... Right? Wrong. The books are so much better and scarier than the movies even hinted at. Crichton at his best, struck terror into my heart and brain. Good luck putting it down.

Great! Really technical but loaded with action and thrills.

If you enjoyed "Jurassic Park", you'll probably like this one. Michael Crichton is (was actually - he died not long ago) an excellent writer who often has interesting things to say, but my eyes started to glaze over 25 pages into "The Lost World". The fault is more with me than with the author; I'm just not that into sci-fi. Didn't finish it.

Followup to Jurassic Park, is has the same thriller characteristics as do most of Crichton's books.

Crichton is obviously an amazing writer, and while the first book Jurassic Park was certainly the big hit of the two, don't ignore The Lost World. A strong action, sci-fi thriller, it had you on the edge of your seat throughout. The characters fit securely in their spots and those characters not returning from Jurassic Park are carbon copies of who they intend to portray. To avoid a spoiler I'll keep it brief: continue the concept of Jurassic Park to an offshore location that's been kept secret - "Site B". 6 years after the Jurassic Park adventure, Malcolm and a colleague Richard Levine are researching the location of Site B and believe they've found it. Levine impatiently sets out on the mission ahead of Malcolm and subsequently goes missing. A rescue mission is put together and Site B comes to life. Enter InGen's main competition, Biosyn, and corporate greed; science and the concepts of evolution and extinction; terrifying dinosaurs that rule the island; toss that with good old-fashioned excitement and adventure and you have one thrilling novel.

If there ever was a case where the book absolutely destroys the movie, this would be it. The movies plot diverges significantly from the novel, and in my opinion was seriously lame. The novel is great, not in my top 3 for Crichton, but a good read nonetheless.

It is now six years since the secret disaster at Jurassic Park, six years since that extraordinary dream of science and imagination came to a crashing end - the dinosaurs destroyed, the park dismantled, the island indefinitely closed to the public. There are rumors that something has survived.

I love Michael Crichton and the detail and expertise he puts in everything he writes. This book I couldn't get into, but then I wasn't that fond of Jurassic Park. This one is very much like it.

This is another one of those that has a different cover than pictured. The cover I have is red with white letters spelling the author's name and a hologram type deal for the title of the book. This was a wonderful book sure to ensnare you and take you into a world full of dinosaurs and fear and adventure. Very quick read.
