A little too wordy in a few spots, but an excellent story with good character development and several cliff-hanging moments.

Love, love, love this book! The only reason I am posted it for trade is that I ended up with two copies!! Perfect reading for people who like science, adventure, dinosaurs, and intelligently written prose. Infinitely better than the movie!

it was ok... definatly preferred the first book overall. Kind of confused how ian malcom supposedly died and the first book and crichton brought him back. good book though, way better than the movie.

If you enjoyed "Jurassic Park", you'll probably like this one. Michael Crichton is (was actually - he died not long ago) an excellent writer who often has interesting things to say, but my eyes started to glaze over 25 pages into "The Lost World". The fault is more with me than with the author; I'm just not that into sci-fi. Didn't finish it.

I know everyone knows the story... Right? Wrong. The books are so much better and scarier than the movies even hinted at. Crichton at his best, struck terror into my heart and brain. Good luck putting it down.

Crichton is obviously an amazing writer, and while the first book Jurassic Park was certainly the big hit of the two, don't ignore The Lost World. A strong action, sci-fi thriller, it had you on the edge of your seat throughout. The characters fit securely in their spots and those characters not returning from Jurassic Park are carbon copies of who they intend to portray. To avoid a spoiler I'll keep it brief: continue the concept of Jurassic Park to an offshore location that's been kept secret - "Site B". 6 years after the Jurassic Park adventure, Malcolm and a colleague Richard Levine are researching the location of Site B and believe they've found it. Levine impatiently sets out on the mission ahead of Malcolm and subsequently goes missing. A rescue mission is put together and Site B comes to life. Enter InGen's main competition, Biosyn, and corporate greed; science and the concepts of evolution and extinction; terrifying dinosaurs that rule the island; toss that with good old-fashioned excitement and adventure and you have one thrilling novel.
