This is book one of a new trilogy by Linda Lael Miller. Logan is a modern-day cowboy. He and his two brothers had a huge fight when his drunken old man passed away. When the book starts out, none of the brothers are talking to each other. But, Logan has given up Vegas and his attorney suits to find his roots back at the Montana Ranch--owned jointly between him and his brothers. In the story, we meet the gal that tries to tame him and her two sons by a previous marriage. We also get a brief visit from Dylan and see there are fences to mend (both at the ranch and in the sibling relationships).
This story has good characters, lots of action and promises to be a very interesting collection of books from Ms. Miller. As usual, there's a healthy dose of romance, too. I gave it 4 stars!!

"Logan" was the first book that I have read by Linda Lael Miller. My impression: "Thank God I've got the next two in my TBR pile!" Logan was a very sweet romance about a man getting back to his ranching roots and a woman who has an understandably tough time trusting the opposite sex.
Logan Creed has been married (and divorced) twice. He has a law degree and has recently decided that he is going home to fix up and live at his family's ranch. On the way there, he adopts a forgotten about dog he later names Sidekick.
Briana Grant has been married once. Once was enough for her. Her sleeze of a husband Vance left her, their two children Josh and Alec, and their dog Wanda in front of the local Wal-Mart. Briana was lucky Dylan Creed had been there. He offered her an instant position of caretaker of his share of the Creed ranch. Since then, Briana has done well for her small little family.
Logan and Briana's family hit it off well, including Briana. Naturally, nothing can go smoothly. Vance makes a visit and things become slightly chaotic.
The Montana Creeds series is something not to be missed if the next two books are going to be like the first one!

First in the stories of the Creed cowboys of Montana, three estranged brothers who come home to find family - and love. Meet Logan, eldest of the three, a cowboy with a dusty law degree, who has returned home to the run-down ranch that has been in his family for well over a century. He's determined to rebuild both the ranch and the Creed name.
Ms. Miller is right on target as usual with vibrant characters and a story you won't forget.

another good one by Miller featuring Logan Creed a member of the mckettrick kin.
I read this book in one night. A different genre for me but I loved it!!
I have fallen in love with this author, she can really pull you in to the story. She is masterful at making each book interesting and the characters come alive, but still weave a thread through that makes you yearn to see the next book so you can follow the characters in the story along.
I am reading the next brother Dylan and have ordered Tyler. You will love it.

Okay, first off there are a couple of things about this book that just hit me wrong. I think a 10 year old is too young to be left alone at home with his little brother. Miller has a thing about leaving dogs in the car. Any clinic that gives out birth control pills without a pregnancy test first and instructions on how to use it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The two main characters are a little too perfect. But despite all these things I couldn't put the book down after I got down.
Briana was too nice and trusting, especially with her ex and his wife. Come on, if your ex's wife runs over your son with the car (even if it's an accident) I wouldn't have been so understanding. Hell, I wouldn't even let him call or be near the kids after what he pulled, but she grows on you even though she seems to always do the right thing.
Logan was such a nice guy. I really wonder why his other two marriages didn't work. I mean money, looks, great with kids, etc... Who would dump that? What I loved were the scenes with his estranged brothers. It was funny how he would goat them into coming home. It was mean but fun all the same.
There was a lot of hit and miss between Logan and Briana. Logan sends out a lot of mixed signals and I think Briana was either super confident or just plain brave to pursue him like she did. But they worked well as a team and in the end you want to root for them.
I think my favorite part though is how things worked out with Briana's ex. I won't ruin it too much for you.

This is a fasinating story with a little bit of intrigue.
I read Logan after I read Dylan, and while it usually is not great to read a series out of order, this one flows so easily. Two thirds down now, and I really think Linda has a winner here!
I really enjoyed this book, the first of three. A story about a man trying to find his past and reconcile his family. An enjoyable read and can't wait for the next one.
Excellent new series. I am anxiously waiting for the 2nd book in the series.
I will think of cowboys in a different light. Enjoyed greatly.
I haven't read a Linda Lael Miller book in several years--even longer still from a McKettrick/Creed series, but I am sure glad I did. This was a really good start and a great start to a new trilogy about the family. Logan, the oldest brother of the three, starts off the series...he's successful, yet has failed in many ways and he returns to his roots to find himself and forgiveness, and in the process finds Briana, the love of his life.
I love the way that Ms. Miller develoed the characters in this story. Younger brother Dylan made some appearances (and I think I am already in love with him) and our main characters Logan, Briana, and her two boys Alec and Josh, are believable and loveable. Even Vance, Briana's ex-husband makes a good character in the story (I have known a few Vance's in my time!) You can tell this is a Harlequin extended story--it has most of the basic formula there, but it was really enjoyable and feel-good at the end. Now...on to book two. Dylan!!!

Love, angst, suspense, revenge, hatred - it is all here. Glad I have the next book ready to pick up and continue the story. Need to get the 3rd book - fast.
