The Nearings lived well into their 90's no doubt attributable to their healthy lifestyle. They define old school common sense and yet were progressive well before it was popularly understood. They were lifelong vegetarians and socialists. The book talks about their homestead in Vermont. There's a good section on how they built their stone house. You'll learn the sensible way in which they structured their lives and helped build the community around them.
