This is a good book, very "chick lit" with less romantic intrigue than usual (a good thing to me.) Magnolia works as Editor-In-Chief of a magazine when it is taken away from her, and she becomes 2nd chair to a loud-mouthed celebrity wanting to compete with Oprah. Magnolia's patience throughout the book, while it is a virtue and serves her well, strikes me as a little unrealistic. But who reads these books for realism? This is an enjoyable read, well worth the wait if there is a waiting list. More about friendships and good work ethics than the usual chick lit book, I recommend this to anyone. No sex scenes in this story, which will relieve some readers and disappoint others. My rating: 4 out of 5 stars :)

I just LOVED this book. I am a big Rosie fan and I felt like I was

getting a peep at the whole magazine debacle. I know parts of this were

probably exaggerated but still completely enjoyed the book!!

A good non-thinking read. Good Beach Book. My only complaint is the type is very small! If you're looking for something fun, this could be the one.

A fun read. Koslow gives us an insider's perspective on the world of magazine publishing and all the glitz and glam that goes with it. The limo-lifestyle of the higher echelons grates on me a bit (very shallow, very pretentious),but it was tempered by the sweet naivete of our heroine, Maggie. As the storyline develops, there is more depth than I expected, and that was the saving grace of the book for me. If you enjoyed 'The Devil Wears Prada', you will also enjoy this one.

This book was very hard to get into. The descriptions were over the top. I was finally able to get into the story about half way thru and then it was good. The story line was interesting or I wouldn't have even continued past about page 30 or so. I just think this author was too wordy and descriptive about stuff that didn't enhance or contribute to the story in any way. I was also somewhat disapointed in the ending, it just seemed very abrupt. Overall I ended up enjoying the book, but I probably will not read another one by this author. I was glad it was a library rental.
