Having read and enjoyed several of Mitch Albom's other books (Tuesdays with Morrie, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, and For One More Day), I was thrilled to receive an ARC of this book.
Have a Little Faith was moving, intelligent, and profound. Similar to the setup of Albom's Tuesdays With Morrie, this time he recounts his visits with his childhood rabbi, who asked him to give his eulogy. In what started as a few visits just to get to know the man better for the purpose of writing the eulogy, Albom is drawn to the funny and giving man, developing a friendship that helps him to begin to examine his own faith and faith in general. The book also tells the story of a former drug dealer and thief turned preacher, who gave up a life of crime to dedicate his life to the homeless and hungry in Detroit. Two very different men are thus profiled in the book, but there is a connecting theme: their lives demonstrate their faith as manifested in loving and serving others.
I found myself giggling at the book at times, and at others crying. The book is emotional, and it underlines the ways that faith can provide a common dialog of love and service, even among people of different faiths.

Made me cry, laugh and think. What more can you ask for in a book. I read it very quickly. Now, I think I will re-read it more slowly to absorb what is being said.

This was such a thoughtful book. I enjoyed the look into the Jewish faith, and the comparisons between different faiths. I purchased my copy used and it was dog-eared around the 3rd chapter, I felt that some one started the book, quit it, then donated it. I assumed that they might have been turned off by all the details of Jewish Culture, which, if it is true, is so sad because this book is such a meaningful reflection on accepting, and often returning to your own faith and the faith of others around you. But then again I am just assuming..
For me this one is a keeper, this is a book I know I will reread many times.

great book with some amazing insights into life and how God plans things for us!
Mitch Albom makes you think deeply about every aspect of relationships, even our most casual.

I was "forced" to read this book because my book club was doing it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a huge Albom fan, but I think this is his best. I really enjoyed getting to know the main characters. And, there were many profound statements in the book. I found myself underlining passages like crazy. Henry was definitely my favorite character - I think everyone could learn a lot from him.
Two things I didn't like: the ending, and Mitch Albom himself. To me, he came across as self-righteous. I'm sure that wasn't his intention, but it got under my skin. Who is he to do the euology of some prominent Jewish rabbi? Well, that's the point of the whole book, I'm sure, but still...

Rabbi Albert Lewis has asked Mitch Albom to write his eulogy when he passes away. Mitch grew up with the Rabbi, but had moved away and was not as religious as when he was younger. Doesn't feel good about writing a eulogy without getting to know the rabbi as a man, rather than as just a religious icon.
We get to know the rabbi as well as Mitch. We learn of his faith, his wanting to help everyone he comes into contact with, his life in general. His willingness to open his mind to other religions and faiths.
The book makes you ponder, whether a little or a lot, your faith and reasoning behind your following closely or not. Doesn't make you want to go out and purchase a religious tome, just makes you ponder and maybe sing a little, too.

This is a true account of two men of god who belong to different faiths, yet have more in common than meets the eye. Albom was asked to write and deliver a eulogy for his Rabbi, who he really did not know well. So before the Rabbi's passing, Albom makes a deal to visit the Rabbi every so often to meet and talk. As the 8 years go on, he continues meeting with the Rabbi and also becomes acquainted with a Christian preacher whose church is going to pieces structurally, but its congregation has faith things with work out with time.
Mitch Albom'a writing is so carefree and open. He's not afraid to write things that are truthful about us as people of faith and all humans. While this was not my favorite of Albom's book (For One More Day is) it still has a beauty of a message.

Wonderful book. A book about seeing people for what they are, not for their color, their religion or belief. About a man coming back to his beliefs and caring for all types of people. You will not be able to put it down. It's a quick read and you will truly enjoy it. It will also make you think about how you treat people.
This is a great book about one persons dreams come true. Be prepared for the end with a box of tissues, but also take something from of for your life. Loved this book.

Light but enjoyable, I would have liked a deeper delve into the 2 faiths but I guess that wasn't really what the story was about?
Wonderful book!!! Light and short but full of wit and wisdom.

I loved this book. It should be noted however that I received it with pen underlines on a few pages. Doesn't affect the readability or the content.
A good read for everyone.

Typical Albom story. It was cool because it was "local"
