A very cute book illustrated with many photographs. The book shows the life cycle of a duck from egg to duckingt to adult duck. A little boy found the egg near a pond and took it home, and he watches this egg hatch and keeps the duck as a pet (living outdoors) and mingling with other animals on the farm that the boy lives on. In the end the adult duck meets its mate and swims off to freedom.

Could be a good book if learning about the life cycle of a bird. Also is just a cute read aloud for a child.

If the idea of a boy stealing an egg from a nest to raise it as a pet bothers you this book may be offensive to you.
