The book covers manners in many circumstances with an emphasis on being kind to others. The author's voice is a young girl. Some of the 'manners' are outdated, but the content is still very relevant and gives a great basis for personally updating the manners to apply today. (For example, the book covers how to politely use a shared phone in a home - not relevant for most families.)

The sections on beginning a conversation and meeting new people have practical insights and valuable suggestions. The book is only down one star for the 'dated' nature of the material - otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

This is an excellent book. You will no longer be confused at that fancy dinner when you have three different forks and don't know what to do with them all. I have just posted this book on here. I hope whoever picks to read it, if someone does, they will enjoy it just as much as I did. Teach your children manners! It may say ages 9-12, but I think this book is good for anyone.
