The book covers manners in many circumstances with an emphasis on being kind to others. The author's voice is a young girl. Some of the 'manners' are outdated, but the content is still very relevant and gives a great basis for personally updating the manners to apply today. (For example, the book covers how to politely use a shared phone in a home - not relevant for most families.)

The sections on beginning a conversation and meeting new people have practical insights and valuable suggestions. The book is only down one star for the 'dated' nature of the material - otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
