Lee Lorenz (born 1933 Lee Lorenz on artnet) is an American cartoonist, most notable for his work in The New Yorker. Lorenz is an alumnus of Carnegie Tech and the Pratt Institute. His first published cartoon appeared in 1956, and he began working for The New Yorker as a commissioned artist from 1958 onwards.

Lorenz became art editor at The New Yorker in 1973. He retired as art editor in 1998.

He received the National Cartoonist Society Gag Cartoon Award for 1995 for his work. NCS Awards

Lorenz has edited and written books on the art found in The New Yorker, as well as the artists themselves, including The Art of The New Yorker (1995) and The World of William Steig (1998).
