This is another quick read, as it sucks you in. This whole series by Sherman and Cragg is excellent if you like action packed military adventures. They also do a good job with plot twists and continuation of themes through the series. Well worth the read!

Back home on Thorfinni's world the 34th FIST lets off some steam after their war with the Skinks. Charlie Bass, far from dead, is left for dead by the Skinks after weeks of interrogation. Despite amnesia brought on by his interrogation, Charlie helps a small band of City of God survivors to prepare to unwelcome visitors. De Tomas, meanwhile, is busy building a new government and enacting reforms very reminiscent of pre-WWII Germany.
