Fantastic true story of an above-average overachieving college student who sets off on a 'project' to get into the mind of some of the most notorious serial killers.
I was saddened to read that Jason committed suicide this past June. Read this book - you will see as I did that this man appeared to have such a wonderful future ahead of him.

incredible story about a kid (18) who corresponds with different serial killers. He eventually goes to visit john wayne gacy. Sometimes repetitive and real freaky.... great read i couldn't put it down.

This book is written by an egomaniacal kid who thinks he's perfect in every way. Yes, he wrote to a lot of serial killers, but that's not an uncommon thing. He "pretends" to lead them on, but then when they catch the bait, he's scared about retribution and consequences. If he's as intelligent, clever and cunning as he constantly refers to himself, why didn't he realize the risk in the first place? This book was poorly written and altogether boring. It could have been written better and even though I read it months ago, I still remember how horrible and what a waste of time reading this was... If you like stories about serial killers that are factual and go into the killer's mind, I don't think you will like this book either. Basically, the author writes about himself and his ego-centric responses to being a "pen pal" to some of the nation's most prolific serial killers. It didn't hardly delve into the psyche of the twisted killers, but rather spouted constantly about how wonderful the author thinks he is. A total waste of time...

This book is pretty disturbing, really. It is a fascinating look into both the minds of serial killers and also the mind of someone willing to get involved with them. It definitely had an impact on me, though I am not entirely sure it was positive. The fact that it is so thought-provoking made it worth the read.

This is a fascinating story of how the author contacted several serial killers and became their fantasy/cheerleader. Moss wanted an inside view into the mind of a serial killer, he got more than he bargained for.

A great book if you are in to reading books of true crime.
This is a good look at what can happen to you if you get to
set into the the trap of it "Won't happen to me".
I do not think the general public should be allowed to visit
serial killers or those on death row, just for the "fun of it"
or entertainment purposes or even to write a paper on it.
The events of the book are exactly why, I do believe they continued
to haunt him to his grave. Excellent story.
I hope he and his family have some peace now.

Interesting book, well written but all through it you keep wondering what mom let her kid be pen pals with some of the worst serial killers of all time. This book does put a diffrent spin on the whole serial killer genre. I read it in two dayz keeps you interested

Good book. Naive kid doing college paper arranges for an interview with Gacy in prison. Finds himself all alone in a locked room with Gacy, no guards around...and Gacy has something other than an 'interview' in mind for Jason Moss!

I found this book easy to read took me two days..(thats usally the norm for me when i find it hard to put book down) Unusual true story of an intelligent 18 year old kid that had a bright future, who befriended serial killers and played along with them to get inside their minds, almost at his life's expense. Good read.

Excellent read!
Interesting book but it could have been better. The author wrote letters to many serial killlers and then became obsessed with them. Great premise - poor execution.
