What an awesome book! Its wonderful when a writer can bring out so many emotions in a book - one paragraph I would have tears in my eyes and the next paragraph would have me laughing out loud! I would highly recommend this book to anyone. A wonderful book about growing, learning, heaving yourself over the bumps in the road and coming out on the other side a person anyone would be proud of.
And, without giving anything away, there is a courtroom scene that will have you rolling on the floor with laughter!!!

This is one of the most entertaining and enjoyable reads I've come across in a long while. The protagonist, Jeanne, is a woman you'd want to move in, become your Best Friend, enjoy a good mutual nervous breakdown, then be there to back you up when you find yourself in a tight spot. She, as well as the rest of Lamb's characters, are boldly drawn in bright, colorful splashes of high and true color. Yet they are amazingly warm and down to earth. That balance is not an easy task for a writer to accomplish. And because the characters are true-to-life, you'll find that they'll make you laugh, cringe, wince, and smile between squeezing out a tear or two.

Not as good as Julia's Chocolates or Such a Pretty Face but has a similar type of story line. It was hard to like the heroine for the first 100 pages or so but the story improved after that. There were too many extraneous characters to keep track of so it was difficult to stay connected to the main character. A little too over the top in some places but still an enjoyable read.

A good read, the first I've read from this author. I like her writing style and the characters, while a bit over the top at times, were endearing and interesting.

I loved this book so much I bought everything else Cathy Lamb has written. This was somewhat difficult to get into...but well worth it. Each of her books touches on serious issues...and the impact of the past on women and their families. A great read.

LOVED IT! A story about a woman whose life was once destroyed, and the journey to find herself again. This book had me laughing, crying, and then laughing again! What a wonderful, wonderful story. I hated for it to end!

A book that will appeal to any person who feels he/she may have gotten lost on her way to discovering her true self. A second chance is embraced by both the main characters as they make major changes in their lives.

Well worth the read. Little slow in beginning but once it gets going you don't want to put it down. Quirky characters that I loved. Found myself laughing out loud several times!

If Kathy Lamb has written it I have to read it. She is an interesting author. "The Last Time I Was Me" was sad, funny, suspenseful, romantic (no sex) off the wall and just plain fun to read. I loved every "friend" I made so much I can't choose which one I liked the best. This read made me crave pancakes! If you read this you'll find out why. It was a super great read. A 5 Star right across the board :)

I was really expecting to like this book after all of the positive reviews I read, but I just found it SO dumb and not believable. I didn't particularly like the main character, I thought the writing was trite and juvenile and the genre was VERY much chick lit and brainless. I caught myself rolling my eyes and often saying "oh give me a break!" while reading it. And don't get me wrong, I like some good chick lit every now and again but this just did not do it for me.

absolutely loved this book. it actually had me laughing out loud at times. would recommend it to anyone needing a smile.
I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Kelly S.'s review; I was quite disappointed in this book. Though there were definitely some funny lines and sentiment and romance, for the most part it was just too over the top for me.
I like this author, but this one didn't do it for me as much. I preferred Julia's Chocolates so much more. That being said, there were some things I liked a lot, such as, the court scene. It is hilarious and worth the read just for this. What I liked the least, was the everyday crying from the protagonist. It wore me out.
I enjoyed this book. Some parts went a little slow, but overall it was good.
What a surprise. Started out slow for me than somewhere around pg 100 I hard a hard time putting it down. Love, love, love the court scence at the end. Will read more from this author.
Fun quirky characters that lighten up a story line that is on the serious side. I enjoyed Julia's Chocolates even more than this one, but I'd still highly recommend it.
