Serious and interesting. He was honest about his hang-ups. The part about Gilda Ratner was interesting too. I only chuckled a few times. If he wasn't one of my very favorite actors it wouldn't have interested me.

I LOVED this book! I was a fan of Gilda Radnor, so there was a connection for me. And of course he does write about their marriage, but also about the movies he wrote, Like Young Frankenstein, and acted in, and his life now. I read it in two days ,and I'm a slow reader. It is not small -- just shows how fascinating I found it.

I found this to be a bit creepy! It wasn't awful, but Wilder seemed a lot better to me before I read the book. A big part of it was the incredible level of (unimportant, OMG) detail, like the color of some woman's dress he thought was pretty once. What? And I didn't like that he was feeling virtuous about not dating other women while Gilda was dying. Huh? I think one other reviewer said she liked him more before reading the book and I have to agree.

I really liked this book... Fascinating, & since I adored Gilda, it gave me another side of that story...
