Wow, the last battle scene left me feeling bruised and tired myself! Enjoy some First century battles between the Romans and the Britons. Gives a nice explanation as to the Roman view of duty and honor, while also siding with the Britons right to self determination. Left me not really knowing who to root for, as the author tries to bring one to the realization that nobody wins in war. Gives background on the Celtic religious view of the world and how it shaped their kingdoms and daily life. A great job of showing the uncertainties, misunderstandings and anxieties when 2 cultures collide in mistrust of one another.

This book gives you an understanding of what it was like to live in the first century A.D. There is romance, danger, military might and spiritual victory all mixed together.

Great read, takes you back into the Bible and tells it from a perspective of people that were there
