I really liked this book. I think it was a really good 1st novel. And it was actually made into a movie, which I'm going to watch soon. Highly Recommend!
This is Scott Phillips' first effort, and thoroughly enjoyable if you like noir crime novels and can handle a little gratuitous sex.
I bought the book after seeing the movie based on it, which starred Billy Bob Thornton. Watch it if you get a chance.
I gave the book to a friend who enjoys the off-beat as much as I do, but had to retrieve it a year later when I started the author's second book "The Walkback", which is a sequel that mostly takes place ten years later. I ended up having to re-read "Ice Harvest" before I could understand the second book - an indication that neither book is deathless prose, but the first book is definitely entertaining pastime reading.

I really didn't like this book, but I think that is mainly due to it not being my favored genre. There is ALOT of drinking, sex, drugs, and language that just really bugged me. However, the ending is worth the read!
