This book started off a bit rocky for me. After reading Hendrix's Southern Book Club book, he had me as a fan for life. So I stuck with this one. I am so glad I did!
It starts off okay but then there seems to be constant bickering between Louise and her brother, Mark. It was truly tiresome for me but I kept slogging through. About halfway through the book, it was no holds barred craziness and it didn't really let up until the end. I was so immersed that I totally forgot everything around me. I love when a book does that!
So, if you are like me and struggling with the beginning... hang tough. It will pay out nicely. Also, the book isn't really about a haunted house so the title is a bit unusual. Maybe it was to throw us off??? Great read, though, no matter what the title is.

Remember the Talking Tina episode of Twilight Zone? Well this is Twilight Zone on steroids. Creepy puppets and dolls, this is the stuff of childhood nightmares. But it's also about family secrets, and sibling rivalries, and the consequences of families who deny all the hard stuff. It's very real life dynamics wrapped in a supernatural/horror tale. Nail-biting scenes had my anxiety levels shooting through the roof. I loved it! 4.5 stars.
